Other settings I would propose:
Season: Spring/ Actual date.
Weather: On - Sync to session. 1 of 4 slots (random) rain.
Practice 45 minutes starting at 9 pm EDT (everyone joins early anyway...). 15 minute qualifying. 30 minute races, except Spa 1 hour.
Fuel and tire wear on maximum.
Session start time: 12:00 Time progression: Real
Looks like we are going to have to see if there are any ringers in the gt3 field. My initial reading internet chatter is saying that the Ferrari is the easiest to get in and be up to speed. The Merc is potentially the fastest but tough to tame and has some handling issues that you can not tune out and just have to drive around.
I tuned the Bentley and have it driving good but don’t know of it is actually fast. It has a great sound track!!! I tested the Austin-martin and it was slow. I then tried the R8 and my basic starter tune made it quite nice to drive but I don’t know how it stacks up to the other cars. I am tempted by the gtr but just can not bring my self to drive it.
There are no clear ringers. SMS does BOP on this class specifically. Some are slightly faster, some have better gearing, some more nimble, etc.
Internet favorites are the R8, 488, and M6.
My favorites from testing were: NSX, RS01, AMG, and M6. I ran the RS01 the first series. I’m leaning towards the M6 if we run them again.
There are slight variations from car to car. Depending on the circuit, the slight advantage may change from car to car. The most important thing is to have a drivable car that matches your driving style. The schedule, as proposed, are all wide, modern, tracks but there is a lot of difference between them. I've run a few laps on each of them and all of them should make for good racing.
I have not tried the 488. I really like the Bentley and the R8. If I had to chose now it would be one of those two.
I will only use the cockpit view so my car choice is influenced by outward visibility and mirror placement.
It will be a long season. Do you guys feel that 2 or 3 drops would be best? We want to keep the points race alive. I know that I will have to use my first miss on week 2.
Drops are too much work and mess up my charts.
On the weather. Random to too random. Like snow in summer random. I’m fine with adding weather, but let’s do static weather based on the real weather for the scheduled dates last year. That way we will have some idea to expect, but maybe not when to expect it.
I will probably also shorten the series a bit.

Fix your charts. Air could handle it.
Weather can be set up to cycle through 4 pre set conditions at random. Three of them can be various amounts of clouds. One can be set to light rain. Snow will not happen.
I ran some laps in the AMG tonight, man that's a tough car to get a handle on. The default balance isn't great and nothing I've tried has done anything to improve it. The balance changes, but just makes the car harder to drive and less consistent. The 488, M6, and 911 are all much easier to drive quickly and consistently, though I haven't tried any of the others yet.
I think I will get on and put my default tune in the Merc and see what I get. I have been discovering is that tire pressures are almost always to high in just about every car I have tried. In fact I am finding that the recommended pressures that are out on the web are to high. The tires even when in the green loose lots of grip once I get over about 26-27 psi. Get up to 28psi and above and they go to ice really fast after that. I seem to like keeping pressures in the 22-23 psi the grip stays consistent and the breakaway is much more predictable and gradual.
I have also found that in general I like to soften up everything. It takes the razor edge off of the handling.
All of this may be my driving style.
I guess we can run the GT3 cars... again... I would just prefer to not always run them. So many other interesting cars (making them even is of course the issue).
I know they are probably effectively what the game is optimized for (thus their popularity online). If we can get decent at them, it will at least give us the ability to go in online rooms and get some Drivers Rating time.
I will probably give the 911 a try. I am not a fan of the sound, but maybe I can get it to handle a bit more like I prefer. The Renault was pretty reasonalble when I drove it Wednesday but I am a bit worried as I loosen it up (as I do) it will get deadly at break away (I am looking at you Mr. Ferrari).
We should look at some sort of spec no-tune series at some point, so we can show how Mr. Sauce is effectively cheating us with his super tunes... or maybe not...
I got the Merc to work really well. No plowing. Nice an balanced. I got a 1:09.6 at WG short track with out much effort. There is a 1:08 in it fore sure. The only down side is the sound does not lend its self to knowing where to shift. I know I can pick up time there.
I know that I have a good setup for the 911 but I would like to try something else. I'm sure my setup isn't loose enough for Air. I may try to tame the Ferrari or try something really different.
The Cadillac is really fast but wants to kill you. Got a low 1:08 in it.
A bit of tuning to get the balance better (it is a bit to loose at the moment) and this could be a ringer.
I also have the 2013 Bentley down to the low 1:08s as well. But this is really well sorted. I have about 5-6 hours of tuning in to this car. I think to get this one better I would need sauce to drive it.
