Wow. The 9.9 patch apparently added another layer of Stalinium armor to the KV-1.
Just had a battle where I lemming-ed behind a pair of KV-1's (I was in my M4 Sherman with the 76) and they initiated a game of peek and shoot with two enemy heavies (not KV-1's, I don't remember what they were), two enemy mediums and an enemy TD. I saw all of those red spots on the mini map and said, "crap, I'd better go help!".
The KV-1's were getting rocked with shot after shot but they weren't dead...curious...most of the shots were bouncing.
I angle a few shots into an enemy heavy then take a shot from their medium and half of my health is gone. Big gun or premium ammo. No biggie, I'm slinging apcr in my pew-pew. Suddenly one enemy heavy and one enemy medium are dead. I start maneuvering around to get a shot at the TD but he explodes before I get lined up. I change focus to the heavy and he blows up just before I fire. "okay..." I think and aim at the medium. I bounce a shot then a KV-1 slaughters him.
As if the KV-1 needed to be more un-killable...
looking though the notes I don't see any changes for the KV-1... my guess is it was a mix of unlucky RNG and poor aim... it happens sometimes :-/
speaking of the kv-1... I had a very nice battle in mine a few weeks back... bought it back and tossed my 3 perk crew into it for a tourney... completed HT-12 for the t28 HTC... 1800+ dmg and bounced 1300 dmg lol... used the 57mm because that is what we used for the tourney and I wanted to be comfortable in the tank...

Forgot to mention, after the peek and shoot session 1 kv1 was at 85% health and the other was still at 100%.
What notes?
It always seems like people are privy to information I am oblivious to. Not just in wot...

nice game... that was a fun tank... good armor at its tier... sadly the next tank in the line really sucks... and gets scout MM so it'll see all the way up to tier7 tanks... I personally suggest bypassing the scoutting lines until you are comfortable playing up against tier7/8 tanks regularly... I had and was doing well in a tier8 before going back and playing scouts

Thanks, I can't believe it came out that well. I played like I always have I just happened to be on the right map, with the right tank, against the right group.
I also have no clue what most of the word combinations your wrote mean! Scout MM? I bought an Arty and have no clue how to use it so I sold it.
Just replace the word "sport" with "tank"

scout tanks are light tanks that are made to go and spot... they get worse match making... in your tier3 tank you'll see up to tier5 tanks... so +2 MM... scouts get +3 mm... so a tier5 scout will see tier8 tanks...
can check what MM you get on the wiki find the tank and over on the left colum you'll see "battle tier" a few tier4 lights get scout MM, and at tier5 and up all but the british light gets it... http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/World_of_Tanks
Wooohoo, free garage spot and a medium caliber shell rammer tonight. I needed the garage spot, because I'm sort of a hoarder.

The KV1 when used properly in tier 5 is nearly unstoppable.....too many people just don't understand how to use them.
While driving one, especially with the mini derp 122, you have to understand the enemy tanks and do threat assessments on the fly. Arty is threat #1, followed by the big gun no armor TD's, followed by other KV1's or pricks with high pen/low damage guns.
I've won several rounds where it was 6 vs 1 before using that technique. I also carry ammunition in an equal loadout for it so I can abuse the intuition perk(fire and immediately flip ammo type hoping for an instant reload)
You guys are on another level
Just started playing this for XBONE.
Getting one shotted every time is super fun.
In reply to SnowMongoose:
Here is what I do to help out with that. With the exception of Mittengard, to keep from getting one shotted or at least being the first dead.
Wait for the countdown to finish and then, do nothing.
zilch zero nada nothing Just sit there.
Get a beer, go to the bathroom, eat a cookie, just sit there.
Watch where your team goes and the opposing team goes. Look at the lay of the land and then make a decision on where to go.
If the Reds have all their heavies running down Column A and you are in a light tank, might want to go the other way.
Running a pokey tank and the battle is up the gut in an open field, might want to mosey around the end and work from there.
My biggest problem in the game is lack of patience. I now wait and do something after the countdown is done to pace myself.
Good Luck
In reply to Flight Service:
Unfortunately, all the patience in the world becomes a moot point when your light tank comes face to face with some Teutonic monstrosity that kills you with a single glancing shot.
Holy balls.
Super fun.
being one shot is frustrating and can happen all the way on up even in the top tiers... but it doesn't happen often (and when it does its usually arty)... but really the key follows in with what flight service said... if you are in a bottom tier light tank in a corridor map you shouldn't ever be the first person coming up on a tank that can one shot you... hence what flight service was talking about...
really WOT isn't a casual game... there are some serious game mechanics that you need to really learn and understand to be effective and that info requires talk about it or reading the wikis and such
In reply to donalson:
Actually I was advocating Beer and Cookies instead of Milk and Cookies. But what you said is cool too. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/wink-18.png)
lol I've had some good games while being AFK for the first 1/2 to full min or so... granted I tend to be a scout player so in those cases it doesn't work out so well... it takes a lot of battles to really know where to go in the various tanks you might be playing and it's even more frustrating in lower tier tanks as no one else does either...
Now I'm not enjoying myself AND have spent twenty bucks, I'm starting to see how these companies make money.
And I haven't figured out how to get enough silver stars to unlock anything worth driving.
don't spend money on this game. Not yet anyway
What tanks do you have?
In reply to Flight Service:
A few beers may have contributed to the twenty buck portion of the last post.
I've an M3 and an M5 that I'm bouncing back and forth between, have been driving a POS T57 when both of those have blown up in quick succession.
Serious face, what do I need to do to enjoy this more?
The obvious thing to do seems to be to buy a non-light tank, so at least I won't get one-shotted every third round.
As it is now, 'detected' pops up, I start running, then explode.
The detected means YOU spotted something... But chances are that by that point you are prob spotted as well...
For me I got to tier 3 as quickly as possible... That mejt free 50% crews and such... I was running up to a tier 4 tank that someone in this post talked about... I was rarely getting shots in... Died early and was frustrated like you so I turned to the wotwiki and watching vids on youtube like jingles "how not to suck", " how to train your noob" and some quickybaby vids... Then reading on the forums... I them started a new account and spent a fee hundred battles really learning the game and when I moved up I made it a point to always buy at least 75% crews and grind them to 100% before moving on... Crews are a significant part of the game.
At low tiers the diff between med and Lt is small... It's really not till tier 4 or 5 that things start to look like what you'd think and even then there are some exceptions
Really tiers 3 and 4 are the worst in the game as they get the worst matchmaking spread... There are a hems buy some of them require some skill to use them... For example My tier 3 locust prem is one of the most fun tanks I own... Buy that has to do with my 3 skill crew and knowing my role (and the map) when I'm in tier 4 and 5 battles where I can't do much DMG...
Really for most the game starts at tier 5... Work towards the m4 Sherman and kv1... And maybe the t-34... The kv1 you'll go through a glass cannon in the t-28 which frustrates most (I loved it... Quick and maneuverable with a good gun but size of a barn with no armor) but the kv1 is the standard heavy tank
The m4 requires you to go through hell in the m3 Lee but the m4 is a very easy to play med... Again the t-34 has you go through a crappy tier 4 that gets scout matchmaking so you'll get the same mm ad you do in the t-34... But again the tier 5 is versitle and a good place to really learn the game.
I'll post a few good links whenbibget back home on my computer... I used them when I was a noob...
Also ya don't spend money till you get to at least tier 5 and have spent some time with the game... I've personally spent about what a year of cod would cost with dlc...but I've also won about $250-300 worth with from tournies...
