Has anyone here owned or ridden a Honda CBR-954-RR?

Progressive will probably total-out my VFR-800, and someone local to me is selling a big 954. I enjoyed riding the one literbike I've tried.

What are they like to live with? Do you ever get used to liter-four power, or is it a thrill from the day you buy to the day you um... sell?

In case you were wondering, my bike was hit and run over while parked on the street by a coward in a blue pickup truck who drove away without leaving details. If it had been my mistake that did it in I'd probably cash the check and go back to cars.

The 954's were great bikes. Comfortable, fast, reliable, and fun. If you can handle a VFR-800, the fireblade won't be difficult for you. Like my bike, it is a bit dated, but you won't really notice unless you're trying to keep up with a newer liter bike.

Those things are rockets. Also, they're very reliable. If you can take a sporting seating position you shouldn't have trouble with the RR.

Sounds like a good bike, then!

It's interesting, today this is the smallest bike discussed on Sprockets.

They are great bikes.....you'll get used to the power. It's addictive though!
Do you have a chance to buy the VFR back if they total it? A lot of times they will sell it back to you cheap. I bought my 944 turbo back for $350 and drove it home!
