What happened to the GRM madass?
It's still around and kick-ass. With my 210 pounds of rider, I can just about get the thing up to 55 mph. We lowered the rear and tweaked the handlebar position for better ergonomics. Next, it's time to swap the stock exhaust for something more snotty and lighter.
The best part is rolling up alongside bikers at red lights, revving the throttle, pointing to the words "Mad Ass" on the frame down tube, and nodding my mysterious, helmeted head. Uh huh, that's right. What's my name!
The Mad Ass is a lot of fun as well as an excellent combination bike for commuter / paddock usage.
Indeed. I'll snap some this weekend. I'm looking forward to "chopping" a few more ounces off of it. It really is an absolute blast.
Hotlink This!
That's hilarious. Actually, I'm hot to order an Asspipe from Moto Scoot. That's right, I said Asspipe.

The thought of doing anything that adds weight is beyond me. Instead, I'll be tearing off that snorkel air intake, cutting the seat down, and swapping over to tiny LED turn signals.
Are they worth 2500 bucks? Do they actually get 100 mpg? Is it worth buying this over a used motorcycle?
No, they don't get 100mpg. Actual top speed and MPG are heavily dependent upon rider weight for sure. With only 11HP on tap, weight is everything. I've been told that the stock intake snorkel is heavily restricted inside including an inexplicable corrugated insert. The entire heavy intae assembly will be yanked in favor of a simple clap on filter and reject. They will work in conjunction with the Asspipe exhaust upgrade.
As far as a direct comparison to a used motorcycle, the MadAss wins the argument if you expect double duty as a pit bike. It's a piece of cake to hoist up, strap down, and shove out of the way. It's a little big for a pit bike, but way more compact than any motorcycle. It fits in the garage better also. Cheap motorcycles are everywhere. If you are looking for speed, 2 up functionality, and don't need a pit pike, it's difficult to beat a true motorcycle.
I think I saw MadAsses priced below $2K last Biketoberfest at Carl's Speed Shop, I think?
