I already had several parked in my back yard under covers and I went and bought an '07 XR650R with a license plate. I needed to move the Aprilia Caponord out of my garage to gain some breathing room. I refuse to park that beast outside long term. Finally broke down and rented a storage shed. Ouch. $70 a month for a 10x10.

Anyone else have too many bikes to store in one place? Do you ride them all?

I only own 2 currently, but I plan to add a few others over time.

Also, epic props on the trials bike hiding in there.

If I had the money I would own many. I don't have the money so I only own one

I have seven, but only three get ridden regularly. For street the BMW k1300s gets ridden by far the most, but my Triumph Speed Triple makes a great backup bike. For the dirt I'm almost always on my 2 stroke Yamaha YZ 250. I have an old Husky 390 2 stroke I used to hit the trails with occasionally, but it's due for a rebuild.

I have the big swiss army knife of motorcycles (R12GSA) but I'm always scheming to add a lightweight dual sport and a nimble canyon blaster to the fold. Wanna buy a race car roller to help me along?

I have a dozen of them...fortunately I have a big garage, but several are parked in the house (yes, I'm single.)

I have 1. . But want many more. And the ones I want change daily...

But I too wonder if I would be able to ride many more. If I can't use it as a commuter there isn't a real reason for me to add another right now.

Bikes do take up less room than cars though...

I'll have a triumph tt600 eventually for sure, too good looking of a bike to never own.

Yup.

Any additional bikes I get may have to live by the rule of "if it doesn't fit through the door to my finished basement it can't live here". Since my next bike will probably be a smaller 'standard' I think it will work. Should be cool sitting in my recliner, drinking a beer and gazing at a pretty motorcycle when I can't be out riding.

I know I should be looking at the motorcycles, but what the heck is up with that Giant road bike? Is that that some sort of Giant version of a Softride or Trek Y-foil? From the aerobars and thick spoke wheels it looks like it was made for triathlons. I swear I have never seen anything like that.

I just like to have one of everything, none of them are newish or expensive, but I can tick off a lot of types of riding with the fleet. Trials bike is probably the most fun, an '04 Sherco 2.9, then an '05 Gas Gas EC250 for single track shredding. I'd like to replace it with something with a license plate. I have the '07 XR650R with a plate for my middle-weight dualsport desert/trail shredder. That bike is incredible. If I were in an alternate universe and forced into a one bike household, that's probably the one I would keep. I used to say that about the Aprilia Caponord ETV 1000. The black one on the left is a '93 KLX 650, my old middle-weight dualsport. I've had it for several years and ridden all over the place with it including a month in Baja going all the way down and back with my Dad. The XR650R is on a whole other level though. The yellow one is my girlfriend's '04 DR200. It's OK on the highway and OK in the dirt. Doesn't really excel at anything other than having a low seat height.

Giant MCR, pretty rare bike. I paid $500 for it years ago and have ridden it hundreds of miles. Mostly back when I race MTB and used it for conditioning. It was designed by Mike Burrows, set a couple world records when it first came out for distance covered in 12 hours and 24 hours, as well as time to complete 50 miles and 100 miles.

Any trouble kicking over that big 650R? Big displacement = electric start required in my book.

And both of my bikes are kick only...

I own 3. My 02 Speed Triple and riding bike. Posted here: Speed Triple

Then, I own 2 93 GSXRs(600 and 750 CA model). Both are in parts. Started building a street fighter out of the 750 CA model and bit off more than I could chew. Haven't worked on them for 2 years. I'll be selling them off shortly when I get some time from my new job.

There is a method to make it kind of easy. I'm not a big guy and I got it figured out eventually. There are several of us in the local dual sport club that have them, they are really tough to beat for the money.

I'm down to 4 bikes at the moment. Got a '05 Goldwing for cruising with the Wifey, a '77 KZ650, road & vintage track bike, '96 XR400 and my current project, a 05 CRF450R for trail riding.

In the summer, they are all at the house. Currently, the Wing is in my Dad's garage and the KZ & XR are stored in my enclosed trailer at a storage lot. The CRF is currently on the bike lift.

Well..let's see, I have:

The daily driver Bandit 1200

A Cr250R that I really should just sell (don't live near any place to ride it)

and a 79 CB750 that's in pieces (needs new cylinders, timing chain wore through)

I was soooooooo close to coming home with a non-running '82 GPz 550 today. Right up until the part where I thought it was going to be free and he didn't.

You guys have it easy....I'm around 34 currently but its been a while since I counted....80-90% of them are runners too. 20ft trailer packed, basement has a few, 4-5 in the garage and a few in the storage units.... I really do need to start selling some but there like pets.

You just need more friends that you trust enough to work on and ride your motorcycles. One of my friends swears that the group rides are always better when you swap bikes at every stop, because everyone's more careful when riding a new bike for the first time.

My bike are not all the same type and I do maintain 4 bike I loan out on a regular basis to people to learn how to ride and or learn to flat track on. xr80, and a stock xr100 and two modified xr100 with 120 kits and other goodies. I've got road bikes , mx bikes, trail bikes, trials bikes, flat trackers and road race bikes.... The bikes that don't run are mostly parts bikes or project bike that I'm collecting parts for or waiting to find $$ to repair. Like my 1971 Yamaha CT1 with 1700org miles it has been sitting 30 years with the cyl off now the crank need to be done. been waiting for me to spend the $150 on parts and the 60 hours to just get it done.

You'll need to log in to post.
