Transitions shields are made for them. Now I must no longer choose smoked or clear, nor wear sunglasses under clear. They also darken slightly for oncoming headlights at night and are antiglare.
Just sitting on my counter this morning
After walking outside for 30 seconds and coming back in
I just so happen to have an RS1. I must look into these face shields.

Cheapest I've found them is around $109, I got better than that. Just remember to keep them covered when you first get them, then pop it in the freezer overnight and then leave in direct sunlight the next day. It'll transition faster and get darker than it would otherwise.
That is really neat. That transitions plus a pinlock and I think the helmet is good to go. Thanks for posting!

If it matters, mine is a Vortex. I know for a fact it uses the same shield as the Star and a few other designs.
Is Bell the only helmets that have this? I just got an Arai Vector 2. They make pin locks for them. Any aftermarket doing this?

No clue, when I searched late last year, its what influenced my choice for Bell. These are actually branded Bell shields as well

Bell has come a long way from the depths of when Bieffe had control.
Bell racing did me right when I bought a helmet that was the wrong size and the vendor would not exchange it! but Bell racing said send it to us if it is unworn we'll exchange and they did. (helmet was discontinued but they had stock)
Other photocromatic lens shield are available for other brands but there not "Transitions" brand photo changing.
This visor was the deciding factor in my buying my new Bell Vortex last month, too. It's wicked awesome.
I got a Shoei GT-Air with pinloc and internal tinted shield, best all day all weather helmet I've ever owned.
I... I like you. Thanks for this. Bell fits my giant melon so well and they aren't the price of 2-3 track days.
I have one of these for my Star. It is AWESOME. It is worth the money.
Hmm, time to see if the Bell motorcycle helmets fit differently than the SA rated helmets.

SA rated? My large is only slightly bigger than my medium fulmer I had before. A lot smaller than the XL HJC that came with the bike.

Hoping they make these for my shoeis. Can't hardly ride with out a tinted shield during theday anymore, but it does suck getting caught out with them at night.

Their SA helmets (Snell rating, for automobiles) are the wrong shape for my melon. I tend to fit a Simpson Bandit well, but I have yet to find a comfortable model from Bell.

Gotcha, my Vortex is Snell/DOT rated. Bell also doesn't seem to hide the SA20xx tags under the liner like most of the others either.
