I've always thought these were really cool. For $350, even without a title, it's probably worth messing with. Are parts unobtainium these days? I actually kind of like the super-90's paint, haha.

An e-mail back from the seller seems to indicate that - "don't try to title it" is always a sketchy phrase. Would be a sweet project if I could get a donor titled frame though. Hm.
I had both an 89 FZR600 and a 91 FZR1000. They were awesomeness.
So, you should, but not that one because someone is looking for it.
I think there's not much lower than a scooter thief. Even a jap bike scooter thief. I would be tempted to print everything out and bring it to the po-po.
If you buy it and swap the frame knowing it is stolen, I hope the bad karma follows you. On a side note, I had 2 FZR600s and a FZR400 and they were great bikes.

you think that the seller saying "don't try to title it" means anything other then stolen?? If it were a salvage title, why would he care?
Being on the other side of that, I have had a bike stolen and hope they got what they deserved. Bad enough that it had a wiped pink (no sign of salvage title on pink slip) Went to the insurance and fought them for a month that I had no idea.
Most likely turned into parts, but if anyone tried to register it, hope they found the po po
I didn't say don't buy it. But sports bikes tend to be more likely to be stolen and as cheap as it. I agree with the advice of getting the VIN and running it by the police.
A local guy saw his stolen Cannondale bicycle on craigslist recently. Set up a meet with the seller with cops hiding out nearby.
I would do it and part it.
