Who's going to Sturgis this year?

Who's going to Sturgis this year? We're planning on saying at Hog Heaven, arriving Monday-ish, leaving Thursday-Friday-ish.

I'm not old enough to go to Sturgis...

Where are you parking your truck and trailer?

My neighbor just put two low mileage chrome motorcycles in an orange and black trailer so I expect he is making the trip.

I'll do it one of these years when I can find the time to ride/camp a bigger loop across WY, ID, NV and into UT and CO. It seems like a waste to ride all the way out there for a party and not make a couple weeks of it. You are riding up from Texas, right? So, NM, CO ... ?

No, we live in Arkansas now. So MO, IA, SD.

One trip, we left central Texas, went: Carlsbad Caverns, Grand Canyon, 4 corners, Coors Brewery, Sturgis, Yellerstone, bought a 2nd bike in Lethbridge ALB, Red Deer ALB, Glacier Park, ID, Seattle, Coos Bay, Red Woods, Sacramento, Glendale (CA), Phoenix, Very Large Array, Pan Handle, Central Texas. >8K miles and 6 weeks. Left on 1 bike, arrived on 2. Put a new tire on my bike when I left, needed a new one when I got back. That was a trip.

That sounds fantastic. I have been relegated to 2-3 day ride camping due to work/family/other excuses but I am itching to just hang the Closed sign and vanish for a while. This fall has a big hole in my booked work and I am trying very hard to leave it that way.

Well, block off the second week of August and come on with us. That's practically Fall.

Wierd. I went to a trailer rally and a bunch of Harleys showed up.

I like trailers. What's wrong with trailers? Ya'll are a bunch of haters.

I respect the guys and girls that ride to the rally. But I've driven through the Black Hills and seen so many non-broken bikes on trailers not to scoff at them. Those guys taint the meaning of the bike rally.

I might stop there the weekend before it starts. Girlfriend & I are heading to Colorado, Wyoming, Yellowstone, for the prior week.

We'll be camping, in our trailer.

So, does the entire medical / dental system in America shut down for a week because all of the staff are at Sturgis?

Hess- If all of the H-D riders were like you and Dr.Linda, I'd consider it. I'll be going, but it will be after the circus is in town.

It's a Time-Out camper, with an add-a-room.

Folds up pretty well.

That's a nice camper trailer, RMP. How wide is it? I cut my HF trailer down to be the same width as my bike and tubbed the box. That way I figure if my bike can make it through, the trailer can too.

Thanks, Dr H. It's 43" wide. With the highway pegs, my bike is 47" (I like to spread out).

Opened up, the camper is 14' long, with a queen size bed. The added room is an L-shape 12x6'.
