We're restoring a '71 javelin sst and one of the front blinker sockets is dead. We have a replacement, but we can't get the old one out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Rotate the socket in the lens counter-clockwise a quarter turn, then pull out. Use some lube if needed.

The problem is the socket has been welded to the frame.

In reply to Kryssaira :

If actually welded, use a finger sander or other implement to grind away the weld.

Edit to say: it seems a bit weird that you are restoring an entire car but a single "stuck" light socket is giving you so much pain.  Some pics would help so we can help.

In reply to wvumtnbkr : she's almost done. Just a few minor things before being re-chromed and painted. They did manage to get the socket out, but slightly cracked the housing.
