Wonderful family, great to meet you all briefly. My vote for hero (opps heroin) of the trip goes to Katie, she’s from the same DNA but missed the ‘petrol head’ gene and is just tolerant of the whole ‘car’ thing. I really felt for her as I gave them a ride from the hotel to The Henry Ford. The issue is the C30 interior is half out as I’m in the middle of running power to the back for trailer lights. So Kati had to sit on the bare floor pan as there’s no back seat. She was kind enough to say it wasn’t that bad after being in the back of the Mercedes for the preceding 1,500 miles! Tim, Margie, you owe that girl!
I try not to correct your spelling too often as I know how pedantic that is, but I must point out that it's "heroine". That "e" changes the meaning significantly!
Dude, you've had to edit my writing before, you know I can't spell to save my life. Now you know why I iz enGineEr not a journalist despite my dreams.
Anyway I'm a Brit so I can massacre the English language with impunity while teasing all others for the same.
The biggest issue is when damn spell checker isn't smart enough to catch similar words for me.
We're about 30 minutes away from the car show; look for the Mercedes with the family of confused southerners around it.
I should be there at 730ish in the Volvo

Pics like these make me think that when I'm semi-retired, I should be the guy who cleans and details and maintains stuff at a museum. That, or "Crazy Mike, heroin addict fishing guide guy." I've got 20 or so years to think about it/humanity to wear me down, I suppose.

Nice to see that they moved the EV1 out of the corner of the museum! They used to have it sitting all lonely in the corner, past the trains. It was so sad having the bright little electric car hidden behind the behemoth trains.
I really like the Henry Ford museum, one of my favorite spots in Michigan and something that I highly recommend any visitor go do. It's a really great museum!

Hanks museum is on my list.
We're on our way back from the car show now, thanks to Angry for organizing it!
Here are some pictures:
Henry Ford Museum is cool. If you go into the village, you can ride around in genuine model Ts.
Looks like the car show gathering was a sucess.
Will any of tomorrow be spent looking for Jimmy Hoffa?

It was nice to meet Family Suddard, Angry Corvair and Gearheadotaku, as well as crawl over the Mercedes. Enjoyable evening. Safe travels on the rest of your adventure........now, I feel the need to search Craiglist for old highway cruiser candidates.
Sad I missed everyone. We arrived about 5 minutes after the Suddards left. Oh well! Seems I still have scheduling to learn when it comes to toting around a 1 year old.
I would have made the trek but the Mrs having heart surgery took the wind out of my sails this month.
No E36 M3. There are more important things in life. I feel for you and your family. I would have been crazier than you.
Good work grm on getting together. This really is a community!
Safe travels to all!

Saw an older red Volvo wagon on the field, was that you Basto?
Was great to see everyone!
Yeah that was me. We passed the Mercedes as it was leaving on Eureka road. Didn't see you, would have chatted! My daughter had fun chasing the roosters around for a few hours. Great burgers there, too!
In reply to Gearheadotaku:
dang, i did not see any volvos there. must've been after i left ~ 8:15-ish?
I saw the Volvo pull in, it was there when we were all hanging around the white Corvair. Sorry Basto, I should have realized that a Volvo had to be one of our crowd and not one of the regular cruise guys.

The bus mostly, the truck had been hacked up a bit too much for my liking.
OK, how was the interior of the bus?

This comment is somehow disturbing. Can't quite put my finger on it...just picturing Steve saying it early in the morning, laughing like a maniac, while talking to Tom...weird.

The interior was mostly seats; I'll post a picture later.
We're at "Olga's Kitchen" now. Dad is itching to eat a nipple cover, but they don't serve them here. :(
