Reader’s Ride of the Week: One VW, Two Engines

We’ve always been fans of VW Sciroccos, but haven’t seen one quite like this before. Grassroots Motorsports forum member ansonivan has created his own dual-engine, all-wheel drive version of the car, and it’s spectacular. Both 2.0-liter engines push about 145 horsepower. The car’s profile page hasn’t been updated since 2011, but we really hope the car is still alive and kicking.

Too bad it just sits around instead of being rallycrossed like it should.

I was at a small autocross held at a small oval track in the Columbus, OH area about 5 years ago and he showed up with the car to run in it. I had heard of the car prior to this so I knew that one existed but seeing it was interesting.

ive always enjoyed twin engine'd cars just because the noise they make, 2 matching engines going WOT at the exact same RPM makes for some interesting sounds, kinda like when 2 people hum at the same pitch
