And some on-track action--and there was some action.
Pro racer, Solo Nats champion and nice guy Tom O’Gorman dominated last night’s GRM iRacing Thanksgiving week series–we need a real name for this–winning both the 15-minute, inverted-start heat race and the 30-minute main event at Suzuka International Raceway in the Skip Barber Formula 2000 cars.
The full field behind him consisted of SCCA, NASA, #Gridlife and marque club drivers, sim enthusiasts and GRM readers. We saw a tight evening of racing, with battles throughout the field and several battling clumps of cars finishing on the same second.
Action in our Turkey Week series continues tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern–and that’s tonight as in Wednesday, November 25, 2020–with up to 60 GTE machines taking on the unforgiving Mt. Panorama circuit for practice, qualifying, and a 25-minute feature race. Check the iRacing hosted races section for “Grassroots Motorsports Bathurst,” and use the password “racegrm” to enter. We’ll take off Thursday for Thanksgiving, then finish out the week with MX-5 Cup cars at the Nurburgring 24 Hour course.
Of course, GRM decals are always welcome, and you can find some options in this Dropbox folder. Then head over to Trading Paints to upload your livery. If you’d like to download a ready-made GRM livery for your MX-5 or C8 Corvette GTE machine, here are a few ready to go. Trading Paints will be awarding a Trading Paints PRO account to the favorite livery of the week, as chosen by the GRM Art staff. We’ll also be giving away two $20 gift cards good at the GRM Store to random finishers each night.
