You Need This: A C3 Corvette wearing a Dodge Viper costume

If you squint hard enough–and maybe close one eye–this Corvette conversion sort of does look like a Dodge Viper.

Okay, we don’t totally understand the appeal either, but to give credit where credit is due, the exterior transformation has been well done.

Underneath the custom skin sits a C3 Corvette with a 350 cubic-inch small block V8.

Why would you do it with such a terrible performing corvette?

Love that it was a Cross-fire Injection Corvette.

There are a handful of C4s running around with Viper conversions, but usually they use OEM viper lights and as much OEM bodywork as possible.

This is actually pretty interesting considering its a C3 and not a C4 - odd choice but whatever - and more interestingly there are no OEM viper parts used.  Headlights, tail lights, wheels, side sills, exhaust, bumpers, etc are all close, but not exact viper copies.  The only part that looks like its actually from a viper is the front corner lenses, and those were just trailer lights even on the real cars because of course they were.

I think I'd rather have had them go the other way: Viper underpinnings with a C3 body.

This is an embarrassment beyond proportion.  I would pay less for such a car or more for a standard Corvette without the body kit.  Someone has their priorities mixed up, right?  I would think a racing body kit would be much more appealing to the market.

That steering wheel needs to be killed from space with fire, but I somehow find myself thinking that the woodgrain dash actually looks... kind of... not bad.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one thinking that.
