I found a 3 page thread on the Samba. Apparently it's 2.3 turbo Ford powered. Also interesting is that I found this on reddit and the first post in the thread is somebody asking if he's seen JThw8's Lot Lizard.

Thanks for the link. I have a very similar vehicle, though not nearly as nice. I hope to steal an idea or two, if I can. For some weird reason I really like the wheels.
