The Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge Presented by Grassroots Motorsports takes to Virginia International Raceway today, May 18. The 50-car field includes something for nearly every budget and taste. What’s faster, a purpose-built special, a Tesla-powered Exocet or some crazy winged Miatas? Now we’ll know. You can check out the current entry list right here.
The overall winner will get a big trophy and all kinds of bragging rights. The story itself will be told on the pages of Grassroots Motorsports magazine.
The Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge is part of NASA’s HyperFEST weekend. The schedule includes road racing, drifting, rally and plenty of socializing. Spectator tickets are available right here. Watch for real-time updates all event on Facebook.

Utterly filthy weather here on the DelMarVa, and up the road from VIR, Summit Point has canceled all weekend activities due to the facility (and namesake town) being inaccessible (flooded roads).
lots of flooding a few hours northeast (Richmond). They called schools locally because of the standing water.
I forecast domination by the Subies.
