Thanks so much! I'm really making out on that sweet unemployment money! I'll send you a check as soon as I'm in the green again.

In reply to 03Panther :
Why would I send you a check when I've been paying unemployment insurance and taxes for two-ish decades? Its my money, and I want it now!
Back to the important challenge plans.
I plan to make this
Faster than this
Swmbo wants to field a two car team next year.
WHo wants a Saab?

Looks like a challenge candidate.

Clearly we suffer from the same afflictions (or dilusions, depending who you ask).

You keep posting pictures of my old cars
I feel like half this forum could post pics of your old cars.
Maybe a running TR7. *MAYBE*
I'm continuing to make slow progress, but a long road ahead & getting powertrain sorted after completion... I will not have time (or not much)
We had some wild plans for this car for the 2020 Challenge but all that got stalled mainly due to Covid. So we have decided on a Phase 1 $1000 build for 2021 while we work out the wild build on paper for 2022

I have a 2003 9-3 that I am using for just the engine and a few misc bits here and there. If you need any parts that I might have them.
In reply to Somebeach (Forum Supporter) :
Haha yes sorry. I am planning to vent it so i was just thinking of a backup plan if i screw things up...Saabs are very scarce at the junkyards
In reply to Somebeach (Forum Supporter) :
Can you share the plans you have for you Saab motor? Challenge car?
In reply to davbro :
short version: do a RWD swap into a 1993 Mercedes 190e, using some cobalt ss bits and a Colorado 5speed manual transmission, it is my first major project but am planning for a challenge car. Just unsure when I will actually get it done.
In reply to QuasiMofo (John Brown) Forum Supporter :
Bring it. Unfortunately for you the celica is sold already so you will forever have to live with having been repeatedly outrun by such a slow car...
I have no idea what I will be bringing down next year, but I do know it will involve a big bottle of giggle gas!
In reply to tb (minimally supportive) :
Curtis, yourself and I will have to caravan down. Peer pressure may possibly get Duke to join in.
In reply to captdownshift (Forum Supporter) :
Sounds good. Curtis helped me out a lot this year and it would have been much harder as a 1 man team without the random extra set of hands around.
I'm currently shopping for a larger, more powerful tow vehicle and the will then look for a decent trailer. Keep your ear to the ground for any good challenge candidates, please!
