Does the shipping cost of a traded part from a Challenge car get included in the budget?

Example: I have used my full $1,000 recoup. I trade a steering wheel for a seat. Shipping the steering wheel to the 'buyer' costs $25 FedEx. The 'buyer' sends me the seat. No money changes hands between us. Is that simply a Trade on the budget or is it a trade PLUS $25?

It counts. You're not trading just your part. You're trading your part and the shipping cost for the new part.

Good, as expected. So...

Example of $0 trade becomes: Steering wheel, plus $25 from 'buyer' (Shipping paid in full by buyer). Seat shipped to me for free.

Technically that then turns into $25 of recoup, putting you over the limit. The buyer needs to directly pay for the shipping, otherwise you're recouping money that you then spend towards the seat trade.

And yes, this is purposefully limiting. ;)
