The price of the truck without the bed and dump is $1500. The reason I priced it this way is that the bed on the truck is a rusty pile of junk, and some people may not want the dump. I have another solid dually bed that I'll sell separate for $500, and the dump mechanism is $500. If you want the truck with the good bed and the dump mechanism the price (only for people on the board) is $2000. If you want the truck and bed and not the dump, the price is $1750. Same price if you want the truck and the dump but not the bed. I've already replaced the rear doors on the truck with solid doors, and if you buy everything I'll throw in solid front doors as well.

Believe me, I've toyed with all kinds of ideas, because the chassis and drivetrain are great. But I'll leave that to someone else, as I don't have the time or energy to do it.
all 1 ton 14 bolts are FF. and if you need it, jim is a great guy.
i'm efforting a low mile 77 from cali(no rust) right now, if i end up with it i might need some parts.
Yes, the rear is full floater and has no issues. I'm pretty sure the ratio is 4.10 or 4.11 to 1. And for what it's worth, I think I overprced the complete truck. I'm thinking that $1000 for the truck without the bed and dump, and $500 more with them is more reasonable.
I'm glad you live so far away. I don't have space for this. Or need a truck that big. But if you were in Georgia, I'd already be explaining to my wife why it was taking up the entire driveway.

You didn't see my comments about the cab, did you? Its toast. Otherwise it would be a $3k truck here with the new doors, bed and a paint job.
Would you sell this thing already!
I've looked at the wheelbase of that '50 Pontiac but have a sailplane that needs finessing and a disassembled motorcycle calling me.

Yes, I did. I don't think Pat will be able to come see it until this weekend, so I won't know anything until after that.

Yes, I did. I don't think Pat will be able to come see it until this weekend, so I won't know anything until after that. But this isn't a truck you would want to drive a long distance.
Where is your sense of adventure? What could possibly go wrong driving a rusted out 38 year old truck through the Mideast in the middle of winter?
In reply to Stampie:
Maybe nothing. But you'll get really tired of revving that 454 as high as needed to run even 60mph (no tach, so I don't know how high, but its higher than the engine prefers). You'll get really tired of the gas bill too, although you can hold almost 50 gallons...
I didn't think about the gearing. Last time I did a fly and drive from Ohio it was a $600 1970 Cadillac Deville. 472 sure did drink gas but I think it had low 3 gearing. Surely you guys have 33s up there. If Pat doesn't take it I'll break out some gearing/tire calculations.
The truck could make it, but it wouldn't be much fun. My 79 Dually with 3.73 gears would run 3100 rpms at 70, 65 was about 2800 rpms. 4.10s would add probably 300 rpms to that.
I drove mine to the Solo Nats twice from Atlanta pulling a enclosed trailer. It was tolerable, but I wanted an overdrive badly. That's why I sold it and have an 03 Suburban 2500 now.
