Would anyone be interested in a 1985 Ford LTD Police?
I'm thinking about selling it but I'm kind of curious as to what it would be worth. Its a running car with the police package 5.0HO, 97k actual miles and the 140mph calibrated speedo. This car was never actually used as a police car. It was ordered as an unmarked car by the county I grew up in and the county didn't buy it, and my great uncle bought it off the lot (with some kind of special permission). The only owners of the car have been my great uncle, his widow, my father, and me. I have the car in central georgia now, and can post up some pictures if anyone is interested in it. it has a little rust on the rear quarter on one side, and has a full tune, new fuel pump in the tank (not the boost pump on the rail) new coil and resistor, new front tires. needs a master cylinder. Had it on the interstate last month, and it was running 100-105 like it was 75. In fact, I was shocked to realize I was going that fast, but it wanted to settle in and cruise smooth over 85.
Anyway, if anyone is interested at all, please reply to this topic.
Is this the small LTD II or the Crown Victoria LTD?
I'm interested in the smaller, Fox body one.

yup. that's him. The car is at my work. I'll post up some pictures tomorrow. solid black with some fading. never had any police decals applied. As for a dollar amount, I guess right now I'd say I'm taking offers, trying to get an idea what it would be worth. I hadn't planned to sell it originally, but I don't have the resources to do it justice. I've had offers for parts (engine, tranny, etc) but i really don't want to part it, or if someone else does, not know...
I think I might have an original sales brochure for these cars somewhere.
More details, please.
Including your location and pictures.

He is taking offers.
I will start the bidding at $1!
We really do need a location to open the floor for bids on this fine example of Fox-i-ness.

Fastest I have personally been on land was in that car. Great Uncle was 75 when he bought it and came to get me and my dad for a ride. (southern WV)
Buried the needle
when we got back to the house ( i was like 13) my dad was shakey-kneed and said "I don't know what I was thinkin, riding with him... that old man used to run 'shine for a living..."
I'll throw out a real offer of $500 so we don't have to count dollar by dollar.
I've seen "Fox-bodied" Granadas in my area (usually inline 6s) going for nearly 2 grand and a "Fox-bodied" Lincoln Continental that started at 2 grand and is now under $950 because it has a brake and idling problem.
If this car is decent (and I shouldn't say this, because I might be interested, depending on condition) it would be worth a minimum of 2 grand.
Wow, that is cool, and it has to be rare. Could be the ultimate sleeper!
