1988 S10 Blazer - Tampa, FL - FREE

Alright, here is the deal. I bought this from a coworker about 3 years ago. It died on him and he just parked it. I thought it would be a fun project so I bought it for hardly anything. The fuel pump had died so I replaced it with a genuine AC Delco pump (Airtex is garbage). It fired right up. It ran pretty poorly so I bought a full tune up kit (plugs, wires, disto cap and rotor, and air filter) and a new radiator (end tank was cracked). I STILL have all of that in my garage.

Now, it has been sitting for about 2 years. I've had to shuffle it from parking lot to parking lot. I do not have room for it at my house. It keeps getting tickets. I just need to get rid of it.

It is a 1988 S10 Blazer Sport

4.3L V6 (non Vortec)
2wd
700R4 transmission
10 bolt rear end
180k ish miles

It ran when I parked it 2 years ago. It includes a full tune up kit and a brand new, still in the box radiator. The interior is pretty rough. I removed the center console because I was going to pull the carpet and powerwash it. All of the interior is still intact except for the console (it is in the cargo area). The tires are shot and the front right it flat. It will need to be trailered.

I bought it to swap in a 350, rip the interior out and have a little hooligan to mess around with. I lost interest and now I have no time (12hr days).

The BAD part: I lost the title awhile ago. Between 3 moves and 2 deployments, the title grew legs. The sad part is I do not remember who the previous owner was. He moved about 1.5 years ago and I lost contact with him. I have no idea where he is now. So, there will not be any way for me to get the title. I will draft up a bill of sale for whoever wants this thing. I figured it would be a fun Challenge or Chump car. Its just a V8 swap or turbo away

Since the truck is located in a "secure location", I will arrange access and help load it. Seriously, I just want this thing gone. I'm willing to do whatever it takes for someone to take it off of my hands.

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the Blazer. I was going to take some tonight but it got too dark by the time I got off of work. I'll take some tonorrow. If one of those tickets was written by a LEO, the name, and perhaps address, on it would correspond to the name on the title.

Damn... what a deal. Too bad you are on the other end of the country.

Hmmm I'm about 2 hours away, SWMBO would kill me if I brought another vehicle home, even if it is free.. damn.

title can't be that hard.(for current or future owner) File for lost one with DMV? Police inspection?

I bought it from a fellow military member who's name I cannot recall. He moved when I was deployed and I misplaced all of his contact information (this was like 2 years ago). I never had a chance to transfer the title into my name; I just signed it as the buyer. It was registered in his name when he was driving it.

I guess the biggest issue is that I don't know where to start with the title. I cannot prove ownership at all (bill of sale was with the title). I have been trying to remember who the PO was and trying to find anything that would help me contact him but to no avail. Trust me; if I knew what to do to get the title, it would be done

The Blazer is sitting in the parking lot at work, on the base I am at. So it's just the MPs that keep ticketing it. One of these days I'm afraid it will get impounded and I'm not sure what that entails but I'm sure it won't be pleasant.

maybe run the VIN by the DMV to get a name? From there can the military help you track down your 'buddy'?

Don't need a title older than 25 years old here in GA. Dang it, I want it but Tampa is so far even for a free Blazer. Does it turn over or have you tried in a while?

If only I could figure out transport.
