Having been through a 356B restoration I can tell you there is a lot of time and money left in that car.

Ironically, the only Porsches I genuinely desire are the ones I've decided to stay away from - 356's, 912's and early 911's mostly because they've become way over priced and if you do find a project car, those unibodies can be real trouble unless the car has spent its life on the Arizona desert or somewhere like that.

So you're saying that this is a bad idea?

IMHO a 912 is not worth its weight in poop. Garbage, the lot of them.

It might be a lot of money to restore it to original, but to make a challenge car out of, it wouldn't be bad at all.

Good thing it is too far away to seriously tempt me.

How about this as an example of a cool 912? I'm set to inherit it in one day, hopefully long from now.
