That's for after i get my hands on something like this.
I've seen about three of these for sale in North America over the last ten years. This is one of my dream cars, and though they scare the bejeezus out of me, parts-availability-wise, I am soooo tempted by this thing. I mean, there is not much stopping me from getting it, except distance and me already have too much on my plate.
I know where this is parked and yes it tempts me to this day, for a while he didnt want to sell it... i wonder what changed his mind
Now that I think about it, this is one of ones that I mentioned was for sale within the last ten years. So this is the third one I've seen in that time period.
He probably realized that there are hardly any parts available in the U.S.
The guys down-under put rotaries in these, but I'd stick with my favorite Mazda tractor engine, the F-series.

I'd like to subscribe your newsletter.
I guess it's just me then....I don't think I've ever seen one of these on the road, and they are were sure rare when new. But really, this is just a Japanese Austin / MG / Morris Marina, which BL never built as a wagon....I don't believe. In "stock" form, these had a 1800 OHV engine, if I remember correctly, and even the Marina used a B-W automatiic, like this car.
Buy it and be different, and basically forgettable.
This car is IMO way more attractive than the cars you mentioned. It is notable because it was designed by Giugiaro (as was the DeLorean, Alfa Giulia, Golf I, Lotus Esprit, Iso Rivolta, and Isuzu Impulse).
Didn't Mazda eventually "screw-up" the styling on these by adding THREE smallish hood scoops?
BTW, this design was originally supposed to be used by Alfa-Romeo...and they turned it down after seeing the finished product. But hey, their in-house stylists were on some kind of drugs in the 60s and 70s, just look at cars like the 33 and the (dare I say it?) the Milano.
