This is for an enthusiast in search of a project. This is a 1987 Nissan Pulsar with the rare SportBak rear hatch. I bought this car at auction because I didn't want to see it go to the scrapyard, but I have way too many projects. Here is what I know about the car: The odometer reads 296,000 miles, however it is not currently functioning so this was the reading when it stopped working, actual mileage is higher. The car is complete, minus a couple of trim pieces. The interior is deteriorating in the way that 80's Nissans do, however it is all there. The seats are in decent shape, the dash pad is not. The exterior is a little on the rough side, previous owner put a yellow fender on the front. Other places have some surface rust and/or primer. I haven't found any heavy rust damage to the structure. Suspension is rough. Tires are dry-rotted, but currently hold air. Here is what I have learned about the car: 1. It starts, runs, drives and stops. No joke, it fires up on the first try and idles... I cranked it accidentally while messing with the ignition and it just fired up. Not perfectly, but it runs. I have driven it around in the pasture and on the road by the house & even down to the gas station a few miles away. 2. The pop-up headlights work. 3. The air conditioning functions: it doesn't blow cold air, but when the dash switch is on, the compressor cycles. 4. The T-tops work and come off and go on fine. The side windows work fine. Here is what I have done to the car: -Oil & filter change -Basic tune-up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor) I also replaced the missing pre-heater tube on the air cleaner -Fixed the cable release for the fuel door (wasn't broken, just popped out) -Cleaned and vacuumed the inside. Stain on drivers floor is hydraulic oil from a jack someone left in the car. -Replaced two broken reverse light lenses with two junkyard pieces. All the other lenses are in good shape. -Re-cut and replaced the vinyl decals on the back glass. The SportBak hatch: The hatch is rare. If you're a Nissan fan, you probably already know; but these were not wildly popular in the states. This ine is in decent shape with a few dings to the fiberglass here and there, nothing a little work won't fix. All of the glass is perfect. The gas struts need replacing. Personally I like it. The car will not come with any keys; the one key I received promptly snapped in half the first time I tried to use it. The ignition switch will turn with a medium screwdriver. Cash only. Clear blue title. So that's the deal. Email me. Scammers: Don't waste your time. -I do not need help selling the car. -I will not accept any payment other than cash for the car. -I will not ship the car.
