If I remember correctly the '94 era Fiestas had pretty bad leaking problems in the rear hatch area as detailed by Top Gear. How the berkeley do you design a car for the British Isles and Europe in general and berkeley up its waterproofing? Sorry for the (censored) curse words but sometimes car makers just don't care. 
I autocrossed a '97 automatic Aspire for a season, and surprisingly I generally didn't lose my class.
