$350??
Someone please get these out of my basement.
Bump!
Someone help me pay for the new (to me) transponder that's on it's way!
I'm flexible on price, I can get the tires removed...
Well, I just made out on tires for these. I bought the tires from Discount Tire Direct using the recent Father's Day eBay 20% off coupon, saving me $90. Then, when I dropped them off Saturday at Discount Tire for installation I asked them to save the old tires planning on posting them on Craigslist for $50 or something. The place was swamped, and they didn't call me to say they were ready, so I let the day pass without picking them up. My first thought was, "Well, they're going to end up tossing the old tires." I called them yesterday to see if the wheels were done, and then went in this morning to pick them up. Sure enough, I don't see a stack of bare tires next to the mounted ones. I asked about them, and the manager on duty looked around a bit and couldn't find them. He offered to comp the installation - a $90 cost! I told him that was really too generous and asked for a just few bucks off given my plans for the tires they removed. He knocked the cost down to $20. I told him that was still too generous but I wasn't going to fight him over giving him money, so I paid it. Thanks Raymond!!
They're sitting in the back of the wagon, I hope to get them on the car tonight if my hub centering rings fit. Pics later.
On the car and they drive great!! I took a chance on a 205-45/16 square fitment and I'm happy with it so far. No rubbing. Obviously this dials out the factory understeer so caution must be used at the limit but I don't think I (or my wife) will be pushing the limits of these tires on the street. (Continental ECS)
Thanks for the good deal! I'm happy with them for sure.
