I have two transmissions that are taking up space in the garage that I would like to move along, and for GRMers I'll take basically any offer. Located east of Reading, PA. Email is abbottcd at gmails

First is a 4L60E from a 2003 S10 4.3 V6 2WD. We pulled this from a good running and driving truck to do a manual swap. It seemed fine, truck had about 145k miles, unknown if it had any work done on it previously.

Second is a 5 speed from a 2006 Mazda3. This transmission worked great when pulled with no grinds or other weird issues, it was only pulled as we did a swap to a 2.5 and a 6 speed from a later car.

I wonder if the s 10 transmission would also work in my 04 suburban 1500?

Is the 4.3 v6 SBC pattern? Hmm.

A 4.3 is a 350 with 2 cylinders lopped off, so yes it's the same pattern.

In reply to NGTD:

It's a little more complicated than that, like the mounting pads are in a different spot, but the 4.3 does use the standard Chevy V8 pattern.

My concern would be whether or not the S10 version had lighter/weaker guts.

I believe the input shaft is a different size on the 4.3 version. Bolt pattern is indeed the same.
