Similar style was already featured at the Challenge last year but this could also be a great LT1 donor to your projects. 1996 Buick Roadmaster with ~131k miles. Asking $1700 on the sign in the front yard but the GRM price could certainly be less. The better your story and crazier the plan the better. Dollars off for road trips. Located in Jamestown, NY.
We wound up with two of these wagons along with another parts car so I’m trying to thin the fleet and focus more on fewer cars. Currently licensed and inspected, my wife has been driving it to work (it’s actually hers). This is the proverbial road trip car. The blue leather seats draw praise for their comfort. The boat like handling can provide comic relief. Seating for 8 and a trailer hitch. All the windows work!
I have recently replaced the power steering pump and lines, serpentine belt, fuel pump assembly and a few other small things. In the last year it has gotten a control arm, steering links and an alignment along with all new rear brakes. It’s a cheap old GM so a list of heavy hitter concerns: AC doesn’t work and the compressor is loud. I am JB welding a rust spot in the oil pan currently. Topside rust is minimal (to a NY’er its rust free) but the underside is less pretty. I’m guessing it was parked somewhere wet for a few years. Power antenna and trip odometer are broken. The interior squeaks of a 90’s GM may drive you insane.
Come road trip it out of my driveway.

These are spectacular Road Trip automobiles. Our "White Whale" Roadmattress has taken us all over the US, and pulled great mileage, when it wasn't pulling big trailers. Wish your photo link worked; I still miss ours.

I had a 1992 that the team's went so I have it to a buddy. Great car, wanted something newer once I had kids though.
As you are thinning the herd, I would guess that you wouldnt be interested in trading for my Impreza?

-Apex thanks for trying to tempt me but the whole idea is to have less things to work on. I did go back and take a second look, but will hold fast and try to get us down to 5 registered vehicles.
Tried my hardest to post a pic, even read some old threads on how to. Google pics may not play nice. Here's a link to it.
Roadmaster
I understand
I really just need my impreza gone anyways as I have another (project) car coming in next month.
Tempted by yours because I eventually will probably need something to tow, but dislike trucks.
I Love my '95 Roadmonster. Yours appears to be a nice and clean from this pic.
Good luck with the sale.
There is a picture. Somehow you came up with a different URL than what Google Pics gave me. Someday I will post one unassisted.
In reply to GhiaMonster:
I'm using FireFox on a desktop computer.
Here's the steps that worked for me:
-
clicked on the link you posted for pic above "Roadmaster"
-
once the picture was open, I right clicked on the image and selected "Copy Image Location"
-
click the camera icon in the dialog box window
-
Paste the image location (control c) into that pop-up window
-
Done.
The Roadmaster moved on to its new home last night. A family bought it to use as a cruiser, just as it should be. The best part was the first test drive when they started out with wife driving, husband in front seat, daughter behind. They came back with the husband driving with wife and kid in the way way back. I figured they would buy it at that point.
Awesome. Congrats to all.
That looks exactly like my last year's Challenge car! Dang I miss that boat.
