That’s exactly the sort of car I look for. Get the serial number and plate number then go to your local police and have them run it for you. If it’s clean you still need to see if mechanics liens have been filed against it. At that point you can negotiate in earnest. Clearly it’s not a high demand car. It looks too complicated. But sometimes they are real nice, just need a few minor things to bring them back to life.
Fundamentally they are near bullet proof, little things let them down. For example the rubber hose is horrible but it takes very little to replace that. ( don’t forget to replace the fuel injection hose) Electrical problems usually are as simple as a loose ground. Follow the black wire!!! The distributor needs to be oiled and if not done the car will run hot!!

check it out legally. The missing key is a really big deal. But if you are going to make a Track day car out of it then it won’t matter.
Curious, how is a missing key on this gen of Jag a big deal? No, chip or integrated ignition/alarm tech on this, right?
