Thanks guys, I knew that was the answer, just didn't want to hear it.
This truck is so frustrating! Everything the PO Touched seems screwed. Filled the cooling system and the water pump is puking! He resealed it....
One step forward 14 back.... Ugh
Sooo to recap list night, got all the belts and hoses on. Filled the cooling system and started it up! Wanted to get things warm and see if the trans worked.
Still need to figure out where the other side of the heater core is supposed to go.... 3/4" bolt plug :D
Wheels move both ways!

Timing is off, way rich or both, it shoots flames

Then I saw this one.......

UGH.
You'll get there.
I've had my '84 500SE for a decade or so and I'm still undoing the damage... that's why I've decided on a motor swap ultimately.
This is a cool vehicle, and it'll be awesome once it gets going and you get through these issues; they're finite, and you can only go up from here!
In reply to Azryael :
Yeah I will get there, I just have a shortage of time at the moment...
Good news is I already have a new pump! My local Napa actually had one in the warehouse.
I hear you on the shortage of time... and yet I find myself having to "hurry up and wait", as I can't progress on what i need to do until others provide the things I need.
It's always nice when you can find things locally. I have found that one distinct side effect of the popularity of Amazon and other methods of online shopping is that stores carry NOTHING in-store anymore. Until Amazon can do 24-hour, same day delivery, it'll be something we just have to deal with.
Well there's your problem..... WP has a hole in it.
Not great on the inside either.
But I was able to drop the fan down and out of the way and get the old one out.
New one ready to go.
Backed out of the garage, and back into the garage under its own power!! Still have an oil leak. Not sure where its coming from yet. But it moves! Timing was miles off. Might be better now, but not sure, I couldn't see the timing light outside in the sun.... It sounds better now.... Also got the boat moved outside for winter, so I actaully have some room in the garage to work now!

Ha! I wish that was even reotely the case..... BUUUT! I did finally find a local glass place that says they can get a windshield.
I had a 72, 1010 2WD, 392, AT, pale green top, medium green/woody body... One of the coolest things I ever drove... Paid $200 for it mid 90's in VA. Lots of rust, but no major cancer. Stripped carb fitting took it off the road, and replaced with something getting better mileage, and less rust problems. everything ya worked on would break at least one bolt from rust. Sold it to a guy from PA to replace his super rusty 4WD body!
I vote for two tone Green/Woody! I,know, you already filled trim. Oh, well... it WAS pretty ugly... but SO cool!
A friend said "if you ever wreck it, they'll be cleaning glass up for a year!"
In reply to 03Panther :
That's pretty much exactly this truck! 1010 AT With the 392.
Im debating color. I really am not sure on the green lol no wood grain period!
Mine was very faded, with a lighter green top than this... This is much better looking than mine! When I told people you ugly my truck, they'd always start talking about their rusty dented up junker; I'd have to explain " you don't understand - mines in good shape, and STILL ugly!!! Love to have it now, though. Wouldn't recommend the woody, but I'd do it for my own nostalgia!
In reply to 03Panther :
Yeah mine seems a bit darker green. Still terrible tho!
Going white roof. AC is inop at this point, and may stay that way.... White may help?
I need to get colors figured out. Wife likes blue. Not sure yet.... But I want to shoot the color around the window frame so I can get glass in.

This is just as cool as the SkiBum truck! Maybe even cooler! Intersmashionals are cool rigs to begin with, the lowered 2wd look just improves it.
In reply to ShawnG :
Like the one above? Light ish green?
I'll take a pic of the door panels, they are the original color still.

Glad you think so, I'm stoked for this project too. Evicted the boat from the garage and there is Soooo much room now!
Been way too long since I have done anything! So I had an hour free, and attacked the new/used fender.
One big dent right where the backing plate is.... Will try stud puller.
Someone mounted something here...
But an hour later and its almost done.
Also started some bondo on the side, but forgot to take pics. Ordered more sandpaper, and wheels :D
