Nice! That is a lot of surface area to sort out.

Both seems accurate.... But I think the car is probably more.... Ceiling is 576ish SF

Basically you get a coupler for your specific paint gun, then it's a quick release cup, with a disposable liner and lid. Mix up paint, slap liner in cup, put on lid(with built in filter), screw down collar, clip to gun and spray. Toss lid and liner when done. Only have to clean out the gun.

I have yet to be convinced that it is any easier than cleaning the whole rig.
Where it might pay off big is if when you go to paint the truck and you have a helper that is loading the things one step ahead of you.
In reply to NOHOME :
This was my first go with them. I defiantly thought it was easier cleanup. Aerosol gun cleaner, and toss the cup. Took maybe 2 mins?
I like the preload ahead of me idea! I got them thinking I would be doing lots of little spray jobs (like the single fender yesterday) and it would be easier than cleaning the cup every time.
Dust Midigation done! Wall around the fridge/storage rack.
Plastic down the other side.
Back to sanding!
Im quickly coming to this point in my next project. Gonna have to remember your dust mitigation system
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael :
Hopefully I can find time to test it! Need to get more sanding time in....
Got donated a box of bends, a couple mufflers and a bunch of straight tube.... 2.5". Should I dare try to make my own exhaust with only 12" under the car??? Mufflers might be on the loud side too.... Thoughts on side exit right in front of rear wheels?
With all due respect to the Harley riders, LOUD gets old in a hurry. Keeps the Mrs out of the car after the first few thrill rides.
I dont like doing exhaust on axle stands, but have done it and the savings are substantial compared to what people charge for custom exhaust in my hood.
In reply to NOHOME :
Agreed! I have had loud.... It sucks after awhile.
I got a cheap quote.... But they have not seem the truck in person.
Loud exhaust isn't the way to go especially with a long roof family truckster. Think of the children!
I'd do it but go over the axle and out the back. I'm a longtime wagon, hatch and SUV guy and apples to apples they're louder inside than the equivalent sedan or pickup
I've heard that V engines with an H or X-pipe will have a little less "edge" to their exhaust sound and will be a little less offensive from a db's standpoint. A crossover would make the most of that 2.5" pipe as well. Throw a pair of cats in there along with an X and those mufflers might not be so bad. I like the idea of outlets in front of the rear wheels myself. Take all this with a grain of salt as I've no real experience with what you're building.

Damn... did I ever learn that the hard way with the Molvo! The big empty box is a boom-box. That is how I ended up redoing the entire exhaust, laying under the car, adding two more mufflers.
It will be interesting to do a comparison with the current project in the shop. The challenge car was a 302 in a Volvo 760 sedan. This time it is a 740 wagon. The full exhaust system from the sedan is going into the wagon. The 760 sedan sounded awesome; throaty but not intrusive. I bet the cavern is going to make it louder.
I have a 392 that is open headers now....
But I think I'll take it somewhere else. Welding under a car this lowSucks.
Good job on the "dust mitigation system "
Def. on the crossover in the exh., but I'm sure you know that already. If you need it quieter for the designated passenger... run both pipes out the drivers side. 2 pipes side be side look good there.
In reply to 03Panther :
Interesting idea!
But It turns out I can't fit 2.5" pipe under the frame at full dump either.....
