It's un masked. Cat has been evicted from the house back to the garage. Hopefully drain plug shenanigans tonight.

And I completely missed the front lip of the hood with clear (and most of the paint too...) except the runs

Not sure if you are familiar with this brand of sunglasses, but I am sure that they make a model that when you are wearing them and look at your home paint-job you would see perfect glass paint!

The Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses have been designed to help people develop a relaxed attitude to danger. They follow the principle "what you don't know can't hurt you" and turn completely dark and opaque at the first sign of danger. This prevents you from seeing anything that might alarm you.

It's soooo easy to get runs in clear. Is this after cutting and buffing? If so, what procedure did you use?

Someday we should get the two most unlikely GRM based project trucks together and talk about how great the other guy's is.

I don't think jb is going to work for that. Pull that pan, pull it like a dent, weld it up, and then check for leaks?

They make jb weld gas tank repair putty that would probably work wonderfully for this if you end up needing it.

This is their "steel stick" putty. Says gas tanks on it.

I'm worried about contamination in a weld or braze from the oil inside the pan.

No drips this morning. But it may not have quite enough oil in it. I just did a quart

Add another quart, wait.

Then, if no leak, heat cycle the mofo and check again!

I've seen the vapors inside the engine ignite when someone was doing that.  It puffed out all of the sheet metal so the timing cover and the valve covers leaked.  They did fix that pan though.

If I were to weld or braze that I would first remove the valve covers,  then flush the engine full of CO2 from the welder. Then weld. The CO2 is heavier than air so it will hang out in the pan for a while displacing any oxygen.
