Pix, yahoo. $500 worth of cobalt with papers and cat. Things are a bit out of order. This is the first survivor of my mania. It currently rolls but I am on the road until April. I'll post a post surgical pic of it is rear floor with the subframe mounted. The strut mounts shown are just temporary to stabilize the strut tops so it rolls.

Stop, you're making me blush!

I was figuring if I can't dazzle them with linguistic gymkahana I could baffle them with my amazing bovine waste products.
If you're not careful you might end up in a certain magazine.
The signal to noise ratio is still rather wide but I'm still here for it. More photos?
Nobody has actually made love to a football (yet) there's a photo of a Cobalt in what looks like a U-Pull junkyard that appears to be the OP's back yard. Suddenly this thread delivers!

That's why editors have jobs working indoors instead of picking up trash on the highways!
Sadly I am really awful at this Sub-Human/Computer interface thinggie. And My wife is a SAP Project Manager subbing with IBM, so she doesn't care to hand hold the AhBNormal Man's forum posting. I need an IT person in the worst way. (OY! How humiliating, I was just pressed into service to open her jelly jar for her breakfast waffle!, at least I have a use around here?) My pix are on my phone and I'm having null luck lately. I have Texted these pix to a friend in Europe and another in South Africa, but I can't get those same pix OUT of my phone and into this laptop!
My Daughter recently welcomed me to the late 20th century.
I'm a stone ax man in a silicon chip world.(But I'm happy, so I've got that working for me.)

I am pleased another of your (possibly fetid) dreams has finally come to fruition. It's been my honor. I'll list you as another "up" vote.(even if you're not) Keep watching this thread! It's likely to get uglier.
Keep On Dreamin', Y'all!

BTW! Thanks for your breakdown of your post! Most informative.
More near scrap at Lavender Hill Farms. The Farmer helps out lost causes, Widows ans Orphans. (Damn His big hearted, gloomy Irish Soul to Heaven!) His latest product is the 84 Regal, all I'll say is it is 4WD.
There were several Delta platforms clogging up his place to start this project back in the spring. All others have been reduced to useable bits, sorted, stored away and their souls now reside in that Great Garage in the Sky. GOB-BALT now has all windows so is more invisible than before and #2 is hiding awaiting my return. It rolls and there is a big hole in the floor over a second subframe. That was as far as I got in spring.
Having no luck getting pix from my phone into my laptop and onto this website! The wife doesn't really like to help this project(She is a SAP Project Manager subbing to a sub to IBM subbing to Gore Fabrics{Gore-tex}), she claims this "is a hardware problem", Dang Programmers!
I need an IT dept! The hardware problem is the Sub-human/computer interface. I remain a stone ax man in a silicon chip world.

Try loging in to the forum from your phone, and directly uploading pictures.
If you want you can put just the pics up directly from your phone, and edit the posts with txt from your regular computer.

I'm gonna call that an idea! One I hadn't tried yet. I don't normally go on the internet or this forum from my phone. Not that I haven't gone on line from my phone but having a 'Puter savvy spouse she mostly does that on the go stuff, keeps me in the dark where I won't hurt myself or others. Another stellar D'OH! Moment in a long line of Computer Driven D'OH! moment's around here. This I can do.

I had failed to realize that you are That_Florida_Man. Silly me I just thought you were just a_florida_man. Ive been reading of your project for 2 years. You have been helpful to watch, I am very pleased to make your aquaintance! Now, about those side bolt 84-5 small block magnesium valve covers you're never going to use, because if you want good heads they're going to be center bolt type. (Well, actually I was chasing a pair but I'm not sure I'm ever going to use the engine they would land on. I have 5-9 small blocks rotting in storage. 3-4. 5.3's several THM350's and a couple of 700R4's. I and they are not getting any younger.) Happy Trails to you!
This is how many BAD things started. Too cheap to pass up, was running before former owner decided to rewire it.(he was either color blind or maybe just plain blind?) It was the initial victim in my RWD research. It proved the HHR back seat would be lost by conversion. So it's platform cousin became my focus. I sold the cage and the fuel cell, Scrounged it to bits for parts for the GOB-BALT project. Hauled it to the shredder full of steel siding and auto scrap. It paid the light bill. May you RIP HHR friend.

Indeed.
I say lets give him a few pages to get in sync.
Im interested to see what he's been up to.
Pics are taking a long time to load! I picked these as a good representative of where the project is at this moment. The weird silver tubes supporting the struts are a temporary effort so that the body can roll in my absence. The engine is still up front but with the tank out, it doesn't drive. The aftermarket strut brace keeps the separation correct. The lean back on the struts is 4*. The tops land just under the rear package tray. We will be cutting away less next time. Will be removing the little triangle quarter glass and the back glass. It will probably have a hoop behind the seats with some form of cross bracing. Look at the back of a DF Goblin. The hoop will be holding the removable firewall on the finished car. In the hooptie/hoonigan version probably no wall initially. Research.
It's is tough to see in these pix but I did not have to cut away the front to rear unibody frame members. The central side to side support was above the swing axle. We are hoping the drive train package being supported left and right will act as a stressed member side to side. The subframe solid mounted in 4 points should in my rough estimation more than make up for the loss of that cross structure and floor between the wheel Wells.

Thanks for noticing and I appreciate your courage in exposing yourself to my particular mania. Seriously, I expect my first one will be marginal, but the second one will benefit! Ya gotta break a few eggs if Ya wants ta make a mess!(or something like that?)

Thanks you guys! (BTW anyone here ever driven a Bitsy?)
***EDITED***
My daughter calls me Og, my Stone Age name. She had known me all her life and once wryly noted that "though one may wield a stone ax, if utilized properly it's results can be attractive". Look at the Lasceaux cave paintings. No photo shop there!, but those images defy their simple tools. Yeah, my first one will be crude. As for talking to myself, well it's not always about me but mostly is. No shame, I'm working for me. Call me lucky.
