if you don't mind some combination of doubling your cost and down-time for this swap, go for it.
i just wanted to get mine going. if i do anything to my car, i'd like to add some trick flow heads next. they present less risk of bottom end damage than forced induction, no major fab work, and a solid power increase.
It was more of a joke than actual seriousness. I did just get the intake spacers in today and the car got pulled in the shop. Work gets started tomorrow. Care to PM me your number in case I need you in any sort of an emergency? LOL

put all the bolts into the spacers and don't tighten any of them down. do the same with the intake manifold. once ALL the bolts are started, gently take the intake manifold off, then tighten all the spacer bolts. reinstall all the intake manifold bolts, then tighten them down.
Surgery started today... Engine almost out. Checked the old intake, non PI. Crap. If this damn car would have blown up a week earlier, then I'd have been able to access my Ford bonus accound and would have that Hardballer intake ready to go. As it is, they freeze the account at the end of the year for tax purposes. So now I'm out for a new PI intake and the adaptors, which together equal the price of the Hardballer. Ugh...
Sent me the wrong damn flexplate too. Sent me one from an F150. Got the replacement OTW, but that sets me back another couple days.
Right flexplate showed up yesterday. Swapping over exhaust manifolds, oil cooler, replacing pass side valve cover right now. Will be stabbed in the car in about an hour according to the tech. Pix soon.
4.6 is out
4.6 on hoist
New intake manifold, for PI heads
Intake spacers installed
4.6 Manifolds installed
The CORRECT flexplate!

Just walked out there to check on another vehicle and he was wheeling the hoist over to my car. We are getting close!!
Hey belteshazzar...
Oil pan & pickup? The F250 pan no fitty...
the bottom half of the 5.4 block is the same as your 4.6 one was, so you can use the P71 pan and pickup tube.
Doin' it now. You're the best.
4.6 oil pan, gasket, and new pickup being installed today. Figured out what killed the 4.6. Timing chain guides came apart, clogged up the oil pickup, starved her of oil, boom. Found chunks of plastic and aluminum in the pan. Nice bit of schrapnel.
Engine being bolted in now...
This is the only time I've ever seen live updates on an engine swap. Pretty cool, I must say.
Damn, the steering shaft is close to the exhaust manifold!!!
It's in!!!
Need to replace the oil dipstick. Took these about 30-45 mins ago. We've been on lunch break. LOL

Eagerly waiting reports and video of first start.
Me three!
And a live update engine-swap thread is berkeleying cool.
Way, way cooler than an LS-swap.
Bolting everything up on the intake to make sure the hood will close. So far it loos like it will without even removing the bracing. The EGR tube didn't have to be extended, we just bent it. Using the newer coils and all that. Old injectors though. LOL
