My mother has a 2016 S90, that is completely dead.  Last week, it gave an error message about having less than 12 volts.  My brother took it the local O'reilly store to get the battery checked, and apparently that was fine.  The next day, it was dead in the driveway.  No electrical of any kind, not even the dome light comes on.  even with a charger hooked to the under hood jump lug, I have no electrics.  I'm hoping there is a Volvo tech on here that might be able to point me in the right direction, because I'm not sure where to start on this problem.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the main battery in the trunk to see if it has any juice, then the secondary battery near the front strut tower. My guess I'd main battery has a short.

In reply to ish_da :

There is a main battery in the trunk, and a smaller one under the hood.

And if you test each battery without isolating one from the other, it will test as good when one or both are not.

Eggsacktly. Replace both batteries and your issues should disappear.

Thank you guys for the suggestions.  I'm pretty sure just the front battery was the problem, but I went ahead and replaced them both because I don't want to work on it again.
