As I have confesed in the past, I am a build thread junky.

That said, I note that most Epic Build Threads never get finished.

With that in mind, does anyone have any links to Epic Build Threads that do get finished?

Here is an example of a winner:

Here is an example of a loser:

One of my all time favorites is Nino Karotta's Aardvark 260Z.

It would appear that the original build tread may be lost to time. I followed this one for years. This thread gave me the strength to keep my 240z in and out storage and drag it along with me for many years with the hope to finally building it one day.

You can find a few build summery's still floating around at Drifworks and Speedhunters but the original build thread was epic.

Not sure if you had a look at the Datsun build thread, but being a shell grafted on to Miata, it would be relevant to your interest.

Oh yeah, i've seen this one and several others. Splicing Miatas with other old cars is certainly not a new thing. There are a few more examples floating around out there.

If i can get my but in gear, mine just might be the firts Z though.

None of mine! I never finish anything, something else dull and not shiny catches my eye...

I've finished at least 2 on here now. All depends on your definition of epic I guess. Wartburg definitely qualifies but the build thread is spread out in multiple threads here sadly, I lack organization.

The Wartburg most certainly would be a good example. No make that a GREAT example. Not only was it finished, but it went on to do grat thing. Remind me...it was awaiting another rebuild of some sort is it not?

The Wartburg is one of the projects that inspired me to do the Molvo. Well, that and Tuna's truck, cause Tuna taught me that I could take as long as it took

Well I thought the husband wife '08 build was done in '10, then it became the mumpkin and got "finished" in '11, and now the owner is getting it even more finished in '15. So, I guess I've learned is no matter whats done, no it will never truly be finished.

I followed this thread religiously. but seem to have lost it ant the end. Did it make it to the Challenge or was the adoption of the pit crew the end of the story for that year.

And before Keith chimes in, his MGB GT is another winner. What would he do different?

It's here.

It went away, came back, went away, came back.......etc...

The team thing is amazing. I like dreaming up weird projects, collecting parts, coming up with really odd ideas to make it better, and wrenching with buddies. I'm not much for finishing. The car has done its best when someone else is in charge of making sure it gets done and pretty. I sometimes butt heads with the finishers and pretty makers but they are my ticket to actually getting a cool (and usually better) version of my vision finished.

There were plans for Wartburg 2.0 which was to be a street rod not a race car. The Wartburg however was sold in August of 2013 to make time/space/money for other projects. That would be the end of it but the new owner decided it was more project than he wanted soooo....

Its in a whole bunch of pieces in my 2nd garage waiting for me to start a new build thread It's going to require a full ground up redo of almost everything to do it the way I want this time so it won't be quick and I still seem to get distracted with other projects (66 F250, Smart car rebuild) but it will happen eventually I suppose.
