have excellent range of motion with no binding anywhere. Can let one side droop and pick the other up to hit the bump stop very easily.

assembled the rebuilt locker from Pete into the 3.25 center section from Gimp. Got all but one of the studs for that pulled in, ripped the threads off that one and have to cut it off because the nut is stuck on it. Thankfully the pack came with 2 extras because another one snapped, not thrilled with the quality but they're functional.

Pumpkin installed, axles cut to length and installed. Found my wheel studs and all the brake parts, waiting on hardware to come tomorrow to finish the shock install and get it off the rims/wood

spinning the yoke and watching both axles spin the same way. It's a good thing

currently hunting a driveshaft and having the debate of have the local dude make one or just order one from speedway that will show up ready to slip in

In reply to 759NRNG :

Nope. In one day I did the research and found an astro van 2wd shaft is what I need and got one for $35 at the junkyard, already pulled and tagged and brought out to my truck. Ive got to clean and paint it and install a conversion joint on the rear but otherwise correct length, correct yoke, etc. counting the new joint, saved my tight budget $350.

however, speedway had the Wartburg driveshaft here the next day. They don't jack around with shipping lag

I could not leave things alone until next week so I set the pinion angle and centered the axle under the car by adjusting the top links.

Unhappy with the stockish width rear axle, I made it 4" narrower

Mucho gusto

Swapped over to a 4" backspace wheel instead of the 5" that was planting the tire firmly into the body before

This makes me happy

Duct tape wrap and angle grinder. I have a jig that lines everything up so 95% is close enough

been itching to do something with meaty 15" again. Bought these wheels for my 54 Belair like 10? years ago and they've been boxed in the basement collecting dust and mouse crap. Much like the car has been sitting in my dad's barn doing the same as I got distracted with kids and like 50 other cars. trying hard to fight the adhd.

In reply to wawazat :

Same or a 15x7 not sure yet. Hoping the 15x8 with 5" backspace is a good fit up front because I have them. Based on how 15x8 with 4" backspace sat, they should be perfect as long as there's not too much inside the hub to cause rubbing anywhere

Remember that time I stimulus checked a tanks inc coated gas tank with in-tank 255lph pump and sending unit to work with the stock fuel gauge? Neither does Carli. However, I'm a couple wires away from slapping it in.
