When you set up blue tooth do it through FM. I have a combo charger/blue tooth in the Miata right now because I like the look of the factory radio. Works perfectly. I hop in the car and by the time I'm moving forward things are connected and my phone has started auto playing podcasts. Pretty sweet.
And this is expensive, but boy does it look the part. Jensen Heavy Duty
I had a bra like your Mazda on my S10 decades ago. Not sure about yours, but mine came with some plastic tubes to go into the pockets that are stitched into to trailing edge of the bra. The tubes wanted to exit the bra at highway speed, so I wrapped a couple passes of duct tape around the tubes which kept them in the pockets. Anyhow, sorry for the hijack. Great thread, fun to watch your progress.

Mine does have the tubes too. Thank you for the info, I will check mine today to see if they need some further incentive to not leave their homes at highway speed.
A guy at work just bought a mid-90s Nissan 2wd as a beater- its rough. I told him it needed Daytons and a Snugtop.

While I had the dash apart swapping the instrument clusters, I had the crazy idea that my life would be incomplete if I didn't swap the lighter plug for a USB socket. So, Amazon and two days later I got it all back together.
Thanks for the idea! I was really not liking the crusty rusty cig lighter on my e36 project. It will be getting one of these.
I may have a vintage Kenwood removable faceplate head unit in the garage, I'll make you a deal if you want it. There is a very good chance that it has a matching CD changer with it and all of the cords. If the stars align it may even have an aux input RCA on the back.
In fact there is probably a whole "system" with 5 channel amp in a box on the shelf. I'll get a picture.

Different colors and amperage options to choose from.

You have my full attention.

Ok, I'll set a reminder on my phone.
I'm in a clean out the shed mood lately and will be for a while.
My order from Summit arrived today.
The lowering blocks are 4" units to replace my existing 3" ones.
I've been unable to source the proper sway bar to frame bushings through parts store sources and instead had to measure the bar and go to Energy Suspension and find the right part number off their size chart.
And last, with the drop control arms, I was able to stuff the front tires into the fender lips under hard compression. So I got a pair of slightly taller bump stops for the front. I will tune them taller with thick washers if I need to.
It's raining outside right now and I've got cars parked under the carport outside the shop, so I didn't feel like moving a bunch of stuff out into the rain to get better outdoor shots.
Tasty ass Miata garage mate
So I have a head unit, cd changer, controller for said changer if it is used with a different head unit, amp, manuals for all, a large bump and cut on my head and a cold beer.
Proof of cut, the bump is hidden by what is left of my hair.
There was a large amp on top of the box it landed on my head, then headed towards the hood of my car. Thankfully it was on a cord that was stuck and didn’t hit the car, or I would have been really pissed.
Tony, I feel responsible for the bump on your melon. That sucks.
I understand your wanting to keep the amp. It looks like a nice one. Do you want to send me a message about what you'd be asking for the headunit and changer at least ? firetruck203 (a t) gmail (d o t) com
I need to read up on the changer. The headunit does have a relatively vintage vibe to it though.
Yes you are fully responsible for my actions. Including me sending you a box of stuff due to your sweet project truck.
This will also clear one more cubic foot of garage space for me.
This may have been purchased around 1991-95 for an RX7 or 89 4Runner. The amp may be newer, all subject to change as my memory comes back.
Sucks about the knock on the noggin. Luckily the car didn't catch it for you.
That amp should be about a ~96 vintage.
I like the truck. I realize the bra is period correct, but as someone that removed a bra to find totaled paint beneath it, can I suggest a clear 3M style protective layer under the bra?

Thank you for the concern. I don't have a great picture to illustrate it, but I put the bra on to detract from the paint on the hood. It's just Texas sun burned off. The bra won't be able to harm the paint any worse than it already is.
There is a fireman at one of the other stations that does paintless dent work. I ought to run the truck over there and let him pick away at the most obnoxious dents during free time between his calls. He's got a pretty good little racket going on doing that for coworkers.
