So I belong to a men's workout group called F3. (See the website F3nation.com) everyone gets a nickname. My nickname is Mayberry, and I just bought my first Miata.
there was a short discussion here:
https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/is-a-less-than-6k-answer-the-answer/168476/page1/
which lead to a quick long days and late nights researching Miati. Then I found a NC in VA that I really really liked. Having a friend off on today meant a road trip was in order. Pretty
left out at 0730. Made it to Roanoke before 1130, to look at this:
Got home a little while ago. Still needs a wash, wax, interior cleaning...
Some things I don't know about
And here are the specs:
2008 manual
101k
Mazda Speed wheels (any good?)
Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires
215/40/18
Roadster Sport exhaust
Tokico D-spec adjustable shocks (any good?)
I'm not sure I've seen an NC in that shade of blue. I like it.
Good shocks, also known as the HTS. No longer available but it was my shock of choice for mating with stock springs when available, and far better than anything the factory installed on that car.
What happens when you turn on the switch?

I really like the blue also and the black wheels/top actually works well with that color. Sweet find, Octavius.

Looks really clean, congrats!
When you flip it nothing happens. It ends in this:
So I've been home for awhile. I took both kids for a run, nothing but smiles. My daughter asked "can I have it?" when she is older. She's 6. And right after dinner my wife stole the keys and went for a drive. Granted she is a Mazda fan after putting over 150k miles in a manual Mazda 3 but Dang!
I washed it and waxed it. My wife has decided it is "our" car. Her car is the Lexus, my car is the 911 and this is "our" car. I'm ok with that.
I also tried rubbing compound and then wax on the headlights. It helped a bunch.
And perhaps the best one:
airbag was turned off.

Nice buy. Great-looking car.
I really like the color too.
The mystery box doesn't do anything. It was hooked into the fuse box by wrapping it around a fuse and jamming it in the fuse block. I took it out. It has no labels or names or anything on it.
Garage mates for the time being. I'll get some of it outside today.
And can anyone recommend a good NC forum?

the best miata forum is this one, period.
Miata.net is horrid.
turbomiata.net has some good info related to turbo charged old junk piles.
@FBC thanks
it didn't come with an owners manual and was looking for one.
How do I know which model trim it is? I found a vin decoder but it doesn't show SV, Sport, etc.
I seriously dig the Mazdaspeed wheels.
Aw, heck. I was really hoping the Mystery Switch would start a countdown on the timer, and then when it got to zero a prompt would flash somewhere saying "Danger to Manifold." (I bet your daughter would love it. Maybe your wife, too, for all I know.)
That's seriously the best color on a NC
