Mine is a 2.5L, not the speed3, but I assume the suspensions are similar.  I also installed Eibachs and got a little drop, and with it a little camber.  Added a rear progress bar and that pretty much neutralized the understeer.  Also had a set of Koni DAs on a shelf in the garage from a previous 3 and put those on.  The ride is pretty stiff, but the handling is greatly improved.

Probably a lot. At the same time I had my MS3 my wife had a 2nd gen Focus (US second gen is just a facelift 1st Gen). The rear suspension, at least, looked exactly the same (I never measured anything, just visual). My car had plenty of parts labeled FoMoCo. It probably wouldn't be hard to dig and see if the Volvo was the same. 
 

I'll bet generic chassis parts swap over. Brakes are a toss up. Engines would obvs be different.
