I will keep you posted. Won't have funding secured to get the ball rolling until Thanksgiving.

Better than earning that Big Buford down at the food court!

Yes!!!
Totally yes! So, do we need to reserve special paddock space for these "legacy teams?"
with handicapped parking since we're old as berkeley now.
also, we need commitment from 914Driver. He's been away longer than I have!
So old that I got shipping quotes to ship the car this year
David S. Wallens said:I wasn't going to reference advancing age or anything like that. But I know some people who can probably reserve some prime space for you, Eastside, the Hongs and Mike. Anyone else to add to that list?
Hi.
So Poopy linked me into this thread. But there is a strong possibility I may end up way closer to the wrong coast for next years Challenge, but...
See, there is an order to the universe, and often we find ourselves fighting that order, instead of recognizing the universe has a watch like precision to it. Instead, we attempt to influence things outside of our sphere of control. This, according to stoicism, is the root of unhappiness. I am adopting a much more flow centric approach to my life, and things are falling into place.
While I am late to this particular party, may I be so bold as to throw the first gauntlet into the fray of #eVilHongSide (BTW, when are we getting stickers for this?).
So I don't know how I am getting there, or even where I will be coming from, but I have a car.
$350, 4 speed with overdrive;

That looks amazing like one I sold a few years back to a GRMer and was offered back to me at the Challenge. If it's the same one I can give you the history on it.

Probably not. It's in NC. My brother works at a Volvo dealer, one of their regulars had an 86 and an 87. He got the 86 to keep the miles of his DD, but doesn't need it now and is offering it to me
This is The Problem I have even looking at this FORUM. anything I own today, Is from Compromise's I made in the past. from 69-72 I was covered up in corvairs, I can Actually see myself dumping it all to build a Stinger clone, weren't they all clones, I think the sedan roof pieces were the major looks change, and a few trick chassis pieces.
CRAP
No engine or transaxle and no interior, but it's mostly solid, and was for sure the right price. So it's a perfect Challenge starting point. And they built about 200,000 Monza coupes with the 110/PG combo for MY65, so it's still relatively disposable. I'm certainly not gonna feel bad giving it a new lease on life, Angry style.

By "fully support this", do you mean you'll take $1000 cash plus the first $1000 in parts sales proceeds for the C4? ;-)

@angry- I’m local and willing to enable
And you shall be called upon!
In reply to AngryCorvair :
Is that like a $1000 dollar down, triple secret, super layaway of sorts offer? We might be able to make something like that that work

Not exactly layaway because I'd need to take possession of the car after the $1000 payment, so I can part it out to build my vision *and* send you more money to get us squared away. I think it works from a budget standpoint because essentially we each own half of a $2000 car. I use my half to build my Challenge car, and I sell your half and send you the money.
i know heads are gonna explode over *that*!
