With a little help from a floor jack and a couple of jack stands, it soon became a roller again:
While I was at it, I upgraded the suspension!
It went smoothly, but not without incident...
No harm, but apparently the upgraded suspension needed to be tweaked:
A little more effort with the jack and stands, and she's ready to roll!
Why does it feel emotional to drive off with a hunk of metal that was once a friend's dream?

Christmas has started...
Pricing on NB front end parts has gotten stupid. They are too old for junkyards to make money on them (insurance companies just total them), and when racers and the Spec Miata crowd wreck cars, they almost always wreck the front end. All of the guys I could find parting them out couldn't help me at all with front end pieces.
I found an importer in CA who was selling JDM front cuts. The entire package cost half of what the individual parts were gonna cost (including the shipping)
Not perfect, and not exactly what I was looking for, but I can make it work.

That's one option.
The only differences I can find are:
- License plate frame on the JDM
- Small vent grilles on the JDM- I'm pretty sure the ports in the bumper are the same size as the US fog lights (which I like)
- Round reflectors on the fenders.
All of these could be changed with minimal bodywork. yO!

I assume it came with headlights so make sure the pattern is ok since they drive on the opposite side.

I did some clean up the last few days...
Hard to see in the pictures, but the tub is truly naked now. I removed every clip, wiring harness, fuel line, gasket, plug, grommet, etc.
Next, I'll pull out the windshield, and it's ready for the welding shop.
Full seam weld?

Yes.
I pulled them off Flyin Miata's site.
We sand blasted the areas getting welded, so the primer is just to hold off the rust for a little while.
Note to anyone thinking of doing this:
The seam sealer is a massive effort. We scraped, and grinded, and burned, and sand blasted over and over. It's a lot of work, but necessary for clean welds.
The car is glued together.
Now that it's stitched, I will re-seal the joints to maximize the bond, and keep water out.
