Got some sheet metal today for the purple car.
Also gave a buddy a hood today for his 2.4 car
Had to grab a bumper bracket and some small odds and ends I was missing from the junkyard this morning and scored a 10/10 perfect 1st gen Neon dash pad.
Got my stuff in to fix my antenna wire, even came with new hardware and fender push clips.
All nice and installed.
Also got a bumper from a buddy who came down for Mopar Nats. It doesnt have plate holes so that takes care of something that has been really bothering me.
Day 65 still a truck
Also FINALLY fixed my truck lock that has been stuck since last winter..... Im ashamed it has taken me this long to fix it.
Super busy last 4 days......
Lets start with having to jack up the house to fix some issues we decided to fix now not later..... Had a couple broken block due to not having a footer under the wall in that section.....
NOS blocks were filled with concrete and laied.
Then Sunday when all that was drying we went and picked up a free mower on Craiglist that donated a seat and wheel weights tires and snow plow and a seat to the MRS. dad.
Got the wheels weights moved to my tractor and went to bed.
Monday evening I found out her dad bought a Sears ST 16 from a guy down the street and if I picked it up I could have the roller and snow blower off of it.... DEAL
Scored this little guy for $10 unopened on ebay.
Also took a load of stuff to the new house to load into the shed.
One of the neighbor kids goes " Thats super cool, how old is it"
I said " It was built in 1971 so 47 years old"
He goes "Does it run good?"
I fire it up and drive it off the trailer.
We talked for a little while about lawn mowers and how he wants a riding mower to race.
Anyone guess what time it is?
Its time to update the Ol trailer. The expanded metal needed some more reinforcements and we wanted to add a couple of things.
Floor reinforcements in and painted, what caused this was big heavy items setting in one spot.
Also added chain to the back of it so we can lay the gate back some to carry boards or longer than 8ft items.
WOOOO finally getting time to put my car back together.....
This bumper showed up silver.... turned out it was green. Still getting closer to paint.
Also got some awesome vintage clothes out for a 80s 90s car show this weekend.
This morning I did my fuel pump (again) since the new one started screaming. Im getting really tired of doing fuel pumps in this car. this is the 3rd time it has been out in a year.
Bonus picture of the poor sad thing setting there.
Been a busy 16 hours. Bumper and fender painted.
Setting here fixing charcoal canister lines and marker light wiring.
Repolsihed the lights and and got it put together and all lined up.
Now that i have seen it in the sun light im super happy with it.
Well E36 M3 has been wild this weekend.
All this body work was preparing for Motor Vice, and boy did it go well!
I had to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to go to the junkyard since I needed a fender liner, then had to balance the hot boy wheels and wash it before we went. It was a long morning for me.
Car didnt win any awards due to me and the Mrs. having to be judges, but it was a awesome day, cant wait to do it again!
Me and a couple of my good friends went to my bosses house after the show to go swimming.
Mowed this morning after moving some dirt around.
Also moved the iris car to the front of the house last night after I got home. I love my sun screen.
Sorry for lack of updates, been mostly working on the house, and recently fixed the trailer from being hit, also finally got proper plates for it.
Notes: one of my neighbors is trying to sell me their Neon since I own a bunch.
I have found, Old glasses, a picture frame, and some scraps of paper and a shirt under my floor. The glasses date 1830s-1850s roughly.
at the DMV with fresh plates and a new light.
Started smelling coolant Monday when setting at a hot idle so did some investigating.....
The plastic thermostat housing was leaking. First for me. They normally explode or crack for me.
More fun. The 289K axle decided it did not want to spin well any more.....
Then about 5 min after that I had to run over to the bosses house to take a look at his 911 to locate a oil leak.... 911 support vehicle to the rescue.
Its been so freaking busy lately here its not even funny.
We have been doing drywall at the house in the big closet.
Swapped a trans in a 17 Sierra 2500
Doing a motor in a 50s era bucket truck . It has the wildest motor/trans setup I have seen in a while.
I have a small current list of E36 M3 I need to do.
- Move the AUX cord on the Iris car to a better location and drive it some
- A axle seal on the RT, I did the driver side axle and the pass side axle seal started to leak a day later. Doing both axle seals while im at it.
- Replace parking shoes/hardwear/rotors on the RT since they quit working on the RT
-clean the white wagon and finish body work and ceramic coat it.
Axle seals are done with some liquid gold.
Dead axle seals. The rubber part was falling apart faster than I could catch it.
The liquid gold.
Yesterday I had the windshield replaced in the RT since it cracked Monday.
Also fixed my parking brake.... It was a lesser issue than I thought. New disk in the rear also.
The Ol RT in its weekend warrior suit.
Side note, stay posted because i ordered some 1g neon parts from Finland.
