Seats in, just need to fabricate the jump seat. Also went back to the Precision door seals, but spent a LONG time trimming out the three extra grip ribs on the inside (outside) part of the seal to make the doors close better.

Just wanted to say I really enjoy watching your videos, well done with enough levity to make it fun to watch.
Got insurance, got license plates on.
Seatbelts installed.
Bed emptied of all its junk.
Pretty much ready for some street tuning.
Run video is coming. It's recorded, just not edited.
It did make it to the end of the street and back under its own power, but no video of it. One is coming.
I'm pretty sure it's not the TAC module. Looking into the Pedal now.
I did take it for a drive around the neighbourhood. Feels tight, purposeful, sounds awesome. MUCH better with sound deadener and carpet inside. Made it to my street before the CEL popped up again.
Also just got back from a whirlwind tour of the western States. Drove from BC through the Oregon Coast. People still don't speed in Oregon.
Toured Alcatraz
Did Disneyland and Universal Studios. Noticing that actually all o'y'all are really courteous drivers, even in LA.
Drove to the Grand Canyon - that is mind-blowing, pictures do not do it justice.
Stopped at Kindig-It Design in Salt Lake City and told Dave Kindig how much I appreciate that they SHOW how they do things, I learn so much, and find them hugely inspirational. Felt a bit like meeting Elvis; a bit surreal - he's one of my current heros.
Then two 12-hour driving days to get back home a bit early. The truck isn't going to make it to school on the first day. Hopefully not much later though.
So how is the tune? A few LS swap efforts in, idle behavior and transition/return seems to be the nemesis of any swap with a cam. Going to stay stock everything going forward using factory ECM with VATS, rear O2 an EGR converted to wide-band input.
Wow Just Wow!!!! who knew after all this that we'd have the opportunity to witness this creation ....Excellent maestro.......hey I wanna take auto shop....at your house how hard would that be???

Other than boost, this is a stock LQ4, using the original computer. I'm mooching the factory tune below 100kPa.
Well OK: LS9 head gaskets, ARP studs, polished pistons and combustion chambers, decapped injectors, Walbro 450, return-style fuel regulator.
It's fine driving around in the limited use I've had. I'm still having problems with the PCM "dropping carrier" with the TAC module, so I haven't gotten into tuning boost yet.
I ordered the correct part numbered gas pedal for my donor driveline. I'll swap its chip over to the Silverado pedal I have that fits. This should fix the "dropped carrier" issue.
Mean time, school starts Tuesday, pops is in the hospital again (and not looking good, again), but he got accepted into a care home which we'll "bring him home to" when he gets out (unless The great Engine Genie In The Sky brings him home instead). Either way, September is shaping up to be B-U-S-Y.
Sorry about your Pops. I hope things work out for the best outcome for him.
I love the cream-sickle color scheme!
I wanted to thank you for all your posts here documenting your efforts. They are great to follow.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Pops is in good hands in the hospital; there is nothing I can do that will change anything.
Sometimes.... working on the truck keeps me anchored. I need the distraction.
Pops got moved to ICU today. Liver and kidneys are damaged, he's on 60% oxygen mix, a whole wack of machines pumping fluids in. Heartrate and blood pressure have been out of wack, not enough blood pumping to sustain him otherwise. Doctor says "he's not likely going to recover from this."
The correct gas pedal should arrive this week.
You'll need to log in to post.
