Man I thought this thread was getting updated with content from the OP. Weird seeing that intake manifold under the hood of an 88.
From like 1995-2003 TPI swaps were all the rage. Then when LS engines started becoming more available that slowed down pretty quick. LT1 swaps were in there but production numbers were lower and the LT1 cars didn't disintegrate as fast as the 3rd Gens -- perhaps not as much due to build quality but secondary market owner quality.
P.S. Of course the alternator is new.
