Kart racing is starting back up so they repainted the curbing at the track. We're un-repainting it with our knee pucks.

Seth -- do you have any experience with late-model Chinese bikes, or have you observed any consensus in the paddock about them?

We are indeed moving and I should have some pictures soon. We made the strategic decision to physically contact as few people as possible with 3k miles of driving. Sort of sucks because there are a lot of cool people/places that we're missing by doing things this way.

Bikes.

And another bike. And so many spares we had to ask "and how much for the trailer? We'll take that too."

We had fun. Heading home now but there is more in that barn worth going back for.

Man, you're living right. My oldest is 5. God willing, one or more of my kids will want to hang out with me when they're older.

I've got my wife convinced that we need a handful of little bikes to race at family gatherings, so the battle is half won.

If you need to sell an xr or two to make some room in the grosh...

Holy moley, your little-motorcycle cup runneth over.

So what is your Cylinder quotient up to now?

(the number of cylinders [functioning or non] owned by you)

We're home. Time for some pictures.

Bikes. Two Honda RS125R's and on Arpilla RS250 Cup.

Manuals and books and folders of info.

Paddock starter.

Two complete sets of Aprilla fairings and about a set and a half of Honda fairings.

Bins of spares.

Which we had to look through.

Pulled the fairings off to see what we have going on. There is so much to learn about these bikes.

GIANT airbox contains the carb. Carb has some magic things going on we have to learn about. TPS that provides info for......things.....

And the weirdest, the stator is on the outside of the bike, and is inside out. The flywheel is that little nub of metal in the middle. This is going to rev.

That inside out stator is rad. The bikes are rad. Mini moto is rad.

You're doing it right.

Yes. I think so. Just a couple days shy of a year since my first day on track. This is the motorcycle equivalent of going "I wonder what that autocross thing is" and a year later buying a whole vintage Formula 3 team. Driving back there were more than a few moments wondering what in God's name happened.

In reply to  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Seeing the paddock starter on the floor of the barn was a very exciting moment. For those that don't know, the 125's can only be bump started. Bump starting a bike that is running well isn't an issue. Bump starting a bike that you're trying to troubleshoot is exhausting. They have no provisions for a starter on the motor. There are adapters that let you run a remote starter directly off the end of the crank, but those only work with the fairings off, and they cost weird amounts of money for what they are. This changes everything as far as race bikes go.

In reply to barefootskater :

This is fun. The bikes are a bit scary, but it's still fun.
