Nah. Probably just some Autopals, but LED lights will probably be going into the plan on the metal bumpers.

Possibru. Wanna text me pics?
No worries. Appreciate the offer!
I think i can get some Autopals and upgraded harnesses for under $100 all in with some creative shopping. Might go ahead and do it on both, since i can't seem to figure out how to get the factory fogs to work on the blue one. (Pretty sure it's just a bad relay, but all the replacement fogs suck and get filled with water within 2 weeks.)
She's a gas-saver! 1/4 tank left. Last time i filled up i put in 16 gallons, so i'm guessing we'll be seeing in the 22-24mpg area.
Nobody likes the gas saving XJ?
Fine!
Motor/trans mounts are totally shot, light output sucks, transmission feels awful after my Miata. (Probably a Jeep thing.)
Ordered:
Daystar poly motor mounts
Daystar poly transmission mount
Putco Heavy Duty H4 harness
Autopal H4 conversion
Amsoil MTG to drain/fill trans
Heard mixed reviews on the Daystars, particularly the transmission mount. Figured i'd give it a shot. My normal daily driver runs AWR 98a duro poly mounts front and rear, custom "Swank Force Racing" 98a duro side mounts, so a little vibration doesn't scare me much. If it's bad, i'll swap them back out and give the rubber M.O.R.E. Bombproof mounts a shot.
60/40 highway/city. This is the same tank that mndsm used to crawl around the city for an hour or two exploring.
Ended up at 22.7mpg with more than my normal city driving. I'm confident i'll be able to break 23mpg with the way i normally drive it.
First shipment of parts came in. H4 housings should be here today, trans fluid tomorrow.
Then i have to decide if i want to use these tires over winter (slow leak on two of them, slight dry-rotting) or try to track down a deal on some decent tires already mounted on Jeep wheels. I'd prefer to not mount new tires on these current wheels, since i'd end up paying more in that scenario, and only end up with one set of wheels to sell when i move to the 295/70-17 tires.
The only other thing i'd really like to address before winter is getting some ZJ seats in this thing and a decent stereo. Yes, i know ZJ seats will eliminate the use of the back seat because they won't fold forward enough, but i never leave the back set up in either XJ anyways, and XJ seats aren't comfortable when working the clutch.
Our '01 Limited's seats are surprisingly comfy, granted it's an auto, and a 4 door so they don't fold forward either. Was the Classic/Limited leather an option in the 2 doors? Come to think of it, every 2 door I've ever seen was either an SE/Base or Sport.

I'm not real sure if you could get it in the 2 door...
I'm very anti-leather when it comes to seats, though. ZJ cloth seats are way easier to find than any Jeep leather seat in usable condition, ever. My problem is with the seat design. The front of the seat is a bit tall, so i fight the front "bolster" when i'm pushing down the clutch pedal. Sucks in traffic.
ZJ cloth seats are really nice. I loved my'99 Limited WJ's heated leather seats though. Oh gawd were those comfy.
I hate this thread. It REALLY makes me miss my WJ. That dumb thing got 17 city, 22 highway, no matter what(4.7 V8). With what turned out to be a clogged cat.
Ok so i need help. Bobzilla has already given some input that i value, but i found some other options, and am open to other options.
Situation: It snowed here lightly on Sunday night. The current tires on the red Jeep are beyond awful, and i don't like that i have to top them up every week anyways. Nothing good used on local CL, so i'm buying new tires.
Wants: $Free.99
Reality: $350-$400 too my door seems doable, and where i'll probably end up.

Anything else i'm missing. Any other "off" brands make anything decent? Maxxis?
I have liked every set of nexen and federal tires I've purchased. All cars though. So no real input on the truck side. But based on car, you won't go wrong.
Cooper Discoverer AT3 > all those others listed. I've convinced myself that's what our XJ is getting anyway.
http://www.treaddepot.com/tire/90000002680.html $100 a piece at Tread Depot (Kauffman Tire)
Tread Depot had the pest price to my door when searching for our size, but Discount Tire Direct says they'll price match, just call them.
Why not go to Discount Tire over by Hubler and the Nissan place on 31?
They show Goodyear Wrangler Radials in 235/75r15 for $426 out the door.
Or Yokohama Geolanders for 542 out the door.
Unless you get mount and balance free. If you do let me know so I can get the hookup
Also, do you currently have 235/75-15s? I'd expect some minor fender trimming to be needed on a late model XJ with no lift and 235s.

I have a tire mounting machine. No balancer though.
Unfortunately, i also refuse to buy Wranglers. I hate those so much.
I sprung for Geolandars on the blue jeep. Hate them, too.

Nope, currently have 215/75-15s. Stock was 225/75-15. 235s are fine. Blue jeep had them for years before it was lifted.
