Book value for that is less than $2000. I sold my 97 that was a good runner (bad A/C) for $2000 with a bunch of extra stuff. I think you could find a better deal. Try www.318ti.org classifieds.

He claims it's rare because of the cloth and leather interior, but they've had it for 90 days and not sold. One owner.

I'll try to negotiate a little more.

There are none in good condition in the site.

$1700 is a more realistic price for a ti with a bum cog, honestly. It's the unloved bastard child of the E36 line-up. If he isn't looking to move it - pass.

The Getrag 250/260s are not $800 either - more like $250 - $400 says car-part.com so you can do the clutch and a few more "while-you-are-in-there" repairs for that much.

Called him up. Someone put a deposit on it. Meh..
