Hello! im new here to GRM but im not new to this project. This is/was a 1972 porsche 914 that i absolutely gutted. I hand built my chassis in my garage; No chassis bench, no fancy tools. About as grassroots as it gets. The goals for this thing are: Under 2000 pound, 400hp, 500hp on a push to pass button out of a subaru 2.5 liter connected to a subaru 5 speed converted to rwd mid engine setup. I put a 986 boxster suspension under it for improved handling. All the body panels will basically be fiberglass and very wide body. It should make about 1000lbs of down force, at least i hope so. Any questions about goals or what ive done so far go ahead and ask!
Wow! Looking amazing, looking forward to reading more....

Been following you for some time now. Keep going please!
Definitely looking forward to more details on this build.
Got to work cutting out some tubing i have began to hate the look of. The tubes that go from the main chassis rail to near the shock towers got removed. Instead i will be welding in a tube that will go from the front cross bar to the shock tower. It will probably make more sense when its in so trust me this is for the best.
Wow!! Is this the one from the aero thread?
In reply to Robbie (Forum Supporter) :
Yeah this is the one, may have made good on a promise from the aero thread today... :)
Finished up the front end minus some welding and i think it turned out great! the shock towers look good, so now on to the rear.
Posted a new video on the Ziptied youtube channel where i regularly do summary videos and other 24 hours of lemons foolery. It can be seen here:
Very nice. I'm following along to get inspiration for a couple 914 project cars that I will probably get to work on this summer.
Worked on installing the flippy lights among some smaller stuff. And so far so good! My friend tygaboy, builder of racerbenz plasma cut me out the brackets and saved me a ton of time.
Now both of the flippy lights are in and getting ready to popup
Im back again this time hopefully for a while… we will see but i have a lot to do!
Todays work has been on starting to mount the nose and splitter. My solution is going to be mount it like our cars at work where the nose is completely removable, so that will look cool. (more on this later)
Ive grown to require what ever big tubes i put on the car must be fancy in some way. so i decided to flow with the line of the tube that comes down from the strut tower. So far so good, i had no ear plugs or safety glasses at hand today so ill notch the tubes tomorrow!
Also you will be seeing some cad, laser cut parts and a lot of cool other parts in the near future!
Looking great. I love the look of the Flippy lights just hanging out in space.
Keep it up.

Now I can see the 914 parts
Very cool build, subscribed!
Love everything about this. Can't wait to see it complete
Very cool build.
How does the push to pass button work? Is it a separate tune in the ecu?
I have a question: what is going on with the zebra stripe walls in your garage? They are TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL!
