Oh yes.
You don't have to worry about having me stick around . I'm going to watch this new build with equal intensity!

Without photographic evidence this is just another internet myth.

Fair enough...
Truth is that is does not look much different than the previous mock-up where I lowered the car to establish ride height. This time the tires are bearing weight and the shocks have been replaced with threaded rod to establish the ride heigh. Bottom of sills are 7" off the ground plane; right where I calculated and equal side to side and front to rear.
The front end is literally just draped over the front at this point. The front tire to fender clearance will be closer to the rear when properly located.
Look Ma...No rotisserie! (till it goes back on...)
Plenty of room for radiators and AC condenser. See the triangle bits up in the corners? For the life of me I cant recall how that bit of the puzzle fits together. The Miata bits are not actually the issue, I just cant recall how the front corners go together.
A consequence of reaching this point is that I can start to get rid of stuff that wont be used. The blue bucket is full of metal scraps that I bought as large pieces of steel and reduced to 1/2" pieces of scarp metal that I am confident I wont need. I bet the pail weights 200 lbs. Since I wont be using the ford EFI, out it goes.
Hopefully "out it goes" means you'll sell the efi stuff.....don't know about up there, but there's a market for it down this way. My 5.0L had mild hi performance upgrades (heads, headers, ported intake, cam, bigger injectors/maf/throttle body, etc.) -- 110k mile short block -- I parted it all out and netted $3300 towards my $5700 LS3 crate. Eased the pain considerably. Even your oil pan - lots of guys start with Explorer/Mountaineer motors and they need the fox body pans to put the SUV motors into Mustangs.
Car looks good.

The FI bits are 94-95 stuff. Or Old stuff off the Crown Vic. Not really in much demand. So out they go to become a fridge or some-such.
That 7" wheelbase stretch really put the engine in a nice place relative to the front wheels. It will be interesting to see the weight distribution when you're done.
Hey NOHOME! Good luck with the build, thanks again for the wheels. New tires on and they are looking great. :)
I'll keep my eye on here in the future.

Worried you might have washed away in that storm as you left. Good to hear the wheels are rolling! Post up a pic and check in on occasion.
In the sun for the first time in three years.
Stance is not quite right. 205-55-15 is not the magic formula. More sidewall or bigger rim needed. Ride height is 7" even at the bottom of the sill; don't really want to go lower than that.
Bit disconcerting how much lower it is than the FRS.

If I can find the right offset. Fighting to keep this under the fender and there will be no flares.
Current wheels and tires would look perfect if you close up the fender gap. Hit it 2 more inches with the lowering stick and see what you think.
First off, congratulations on a major milestone.
Now the stance looks all wrong, and the wheels are not working, at least for me.
Are you running bumpers? If so, mock them up now so we can get a look. It's a bit chinless now and it's screwing with my mind.
It looks like the overall diameter of your wheel-tire combo is too small:
Since you don't want it any lower, I agree with more sidewall, though I think pairing that with a bigger rim might be OK. From here it looks like it wants another inch or two of diameter.
Tuna55 (Nov 30 2015) said: Am I the only one thinking that you might want a slightly smaller diameter wheel? It looks fantastic. Nice work.
These are the 16" wheels. Roughly the same lower control arm angle as what I have with the 15" wheels.
In reply to NOHOME:
What is the overall diameter for this package, and what is the overall diameter for the one on them now in the driveway?
By the way, I said "wheel" specifically, as in not enough sidewall/diameter ratio. I am not sure if I think the overall diameter of this picture is too large or just right, but it's clearly bigger.

Black rims with 205 50 15 are 23" tall
BBS with 205 55 16 were 24.8" tall
Might be as simple as going with a 60 series profile. I also want to be careful I don't end up looking for a tire size that is not common.
As to the bumpers...Would you believe that the Miata chassis did not provide for Volvo Bumper mounts! Going to have to figure that one out somehow!
But that is all in the future. I am waiting for the crunched MGB to arrive for some minor cosmetic surgery and to replenish the war-chest. Progress on the Molvo will stop until the MGB leaves the shop.
I think aiming for somewhere around 24" - right in the middle - would work, but my preference would be for a smaller diameter wheel to get that same diameter. A 205/55R15 is pretty close.
This is all my very subjective idea on a few pictures of a car that I've never seen in person, so feel free to ignore me like crazy.
