So I've done it again, just couldn't help myself...such an addict.
Donor- '86 Porsche 944 in slate grey metallic
Engine removal...
The chassis was stripped down to a roller. Electrical gutted. Nothing exciting about tear down so I'll jump past that.
Fitting Widerstandsfahig Widebody and taking care of metal work...
The Paint-
Paint codes are Porsche original '86 model year colors.
I'm going to hold on to photos of the engine paint work for a few more posts...
Engine- GM LS1 sourced from a 2004 GTO w/ 18K miles. Yes, I'm LS swapping it.
Doing some wiring- The electrical is down to the basics. Engine PCM, Lights and turns, windows, wipers,and gauges. Always weight reduction. Lighter is faster.
And a shot with the wheel halves on the car during wiring.
The interior-
Initially my thought was aluminum door cards. As the build progressed I realized that would not cut it. So I made the upholstered to match cards. The center console has ample open space for the addition of supplemental gauges or data logger.
